r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? I would not trust the 5 year filter. It's like the shark never change that turns out....you need to change it often. That test that said 5 years was running 12 hours per day likely on lowest setting (not specified). If you are like most people you just leave it running on a low-mid setting you will get a year out of it. It's CADR is extremely low for the price. You can get many better, also silent, options for about half the price. And ones that have True HEPA filters at that. That being said, it's a Dyson. If you like them, you like them. It has style and app functionality that some others don't.
r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? I'm a little bit confused. Dyson does not claim it to be HEPA. Energystar says it's not verified to be HEPA. The likely outcome..... Are you trying to suggest that it is HEPA even though both available sources are not indicating it is?
r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? It says HEPA-type. If you click on the little i there you will see that HEPA-type is not a real HEPA filter. It's like calling something and orange drink instead of orange juice, it's done for a reason, to mislead consumers.

r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? I haven’t contacted Dyson because it isn’t at that speed very often so I don’t care. I don’t know the cause and I don’t know if it’s a universal issue
r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? It works decently against odors, helps my apartment not smell like bacon all the time. Main filter seems to have a long life but for some reason im already like a third of the way through the charcoal filter
r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? Hi, I have updates! So, my HushJet started making some awful sounds a couple weeks ago and I had to bring it in for repair. I got it back after a week and their “fix” did nothing. I took it back in this weekend and they gave me a brand new one and let me keep the old filter which was nice. I don’t know if I’m unlucky or it’s an unreliable product. I have loved using it though. Your room size is larger than what Dyson says is ideal for the purifier, but it should still do a decent job. No clue what HEPA grade it uses. The air quality monitoring and auto fan speed work great together. I have mine scheduled to be on auto most of them time, then at 5/10 fan speed all day while I’m at work to take care of dust and stuff. It’s quiet and pretty.

r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? 1. Is the Dyson HushJet “true HEPA”? Short version: No, Dyson does not advertise the HushJet as “HEPA H13” the way they do with some of their larger purifiers. It is high-efficiency, but it’s not clearly positioned as true HEPA H13. From Dyson’s own materials and retailer listings (paraphrased): • They say it captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns and uses a 360° electrostatic filter plus carbon. • For their higher-end models (like Big+Quiet, Hot+Cool Formaldehyde), they explicitly say “HEPA H13” and “fully sealed to HEPA H13 standard.” • For HushJet, they lean on the 99.97% @ 0.3µm claim but don’t prominently slap “HEPA H13” on it the same way. That 99.97% @ 0.3µm spec is HEPA-level performance, but the lack of bold “HEPA H13” labeling suggests they’re not certifying or marketing it the same as those flagship machines.

r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? It’s possible that I am wrong - but usually if a filter is true hepa it’s advertised pretty up front. I didn’t see them mention anything about it. It also said it can capture particles as small as PM2.5, but PM1 are generally the most dangerous for humans. Usually the word “dangerous” in relation to 2.5 and 10
r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? Hey circling back on this - I misread something if in the description. This filter captures particles as small as .3 microns, whereas I was talking about micrometers (PM1 etc) which is a larger particle. Granted, it still says “Set and forget. Intelligent particle sensing detects PM2.5 particles – reacting and adapting airflow to quickly purify the air. Only purifies when necessary to save energy.” So it may not react to particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers automatically

r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? I received a Dyson Hushjet today. First impression: quite disappointed. My biggest complaint is the noticeable, annoying hum it makes. Of course, it starts on Auto when you turn it on. My air quality was very clean, so the Hushjet ran at the lowest output level—and I'm tellin’ you, the hum is noticeable and annoying. I’m also disappointed by the fact that a lot of dust doesn't set off the air purifier. I tested it by placing the Hushjet right next to a table with a lot of dust. I used a rag to stir up the dust. The Auto setting on the Hushjet remained at the minimum air level. So, if you’re buying this to automatically sense a buildup of dust—don’t. I’ve had air purifiers in the past with Auto settings that do kick in when there’s a lot of dust in the air, but sadly, this Dyson is not one of them. If you want it to suck in dust, you’ll have to manually turn up the Dyson. Let’s talk about Dyson’s “quiet” claims. Sure, the lowest setting is ultra-quiet—but that’s because there’s hardly any air blowin’ out of the top. You crank this thing to Level 10, which is the max, and it ain’t as quiet as I expected it to be. At the highest setting, It really isn’t much quieter than other air purifiers, in my opinion. And with it only covering 200 sq. ft., you kind of have to keep it relatively close to where you sit most often—or in your bedroom, whichever room you choose. (To be fair, this Dyson is quieter than other air purifiers at the lower settings.) And finally, the five-year claim for the main filter is only possible if the Hushjet is kept at the lowest setting—because, again, at the lowest setting there’s hardly any air movement at all.
r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? I am returning it for a refund, yes. At $350 plus tax, I'm not tolerating all the disappointment. I had high hopes for this, based on the claims made by Dyson. I agree with those that have said perhaps Dyson should stick with vacuums. I really like their new PencilVac, despite its limited use. (It's not perfect, but it's certainly very convenient to use.) Regarding the Hushjet hum: I imagine if someone has other background noise, or will use this at a distance, the hum won't be as bothersome as it was for me.

r/AirPurifiers · Dyson HushJet (HJ10) - Honest feedback on sensor lag and low-speed whistling? Dyson air purifiers are garbage. The 5-year lifespan of the HEPA filter is absolutely impossible; it doesn't even have a pre-filter. Give it 1-2 years maximum, and the carbon filter 6 months if you use it daily.

r/AirPurifiers · Dyson HushJet (HJ10) - Honest feedback on sensor lag and low-speed whistling? Dyson is quite fair with the filter lifespan, so that's not a massive concern. Regarding the noise, too soon to tell. Dyson's tend to develop ugly noises after a year or two... all while being expensive, I'd probably go for levoit.

r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? I’ve just got one for my home office which I often find gets a bit stuffy and dusty especially considering how much time I spend in it. First impressions: great looking device and it does what it says on the tin. Quiet and moves air around the room a bit and effectively purifies it, perfect for what I wanted. When it does detect contaminants it gets rid super fast. Negatives, if you’ve owned a Dyson before (I.e the purifying fans) I find this device to be comparatively very poor at detecting contamination. For example if I spray some deodorant in the room I have my Dyson hot cool pure, I find it very quickly detects it and fires up. If you can smell it the dyson can too. With the hushjet I have found this not to be the case at all. It feels like the sensors are massively worse than other dyson products, and seems to be much worse at detecting pollution in the air in auto mode. Overall happy with it but wish the auto mode detection was just as good as their other products.

r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? My guess would be that hepa certification costs money, and with a unit priced at that price, with long lasting filter, they might just want every bit of profit they can get.

r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? 300sq ft, after cleaning filter life is again at 100%. You just need to clean it after 20 to 30 days
r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? It’s working really well now. When the windows are open, it doesn’t perform effectively. However, once the windows and gates are closed, it takes about half an hour to bring the AQI below 40 on winter nights at full speed, and below 20 during the daytime.

r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? Thanks for the update. The Dyson India site says it can cover upto 1076 sq. ft. This was also mentioned at the Dyson launch event in September. But yeah, I’m a little concerned about its efficacy. If things go wrong, we have the 10 day return policy
r/dyson · Dyson Hushjet Air Purifier deep review ? I’ve ordered it today. I have 2 concerns though:- 1. My room size is 450 sq. ft. Wondering if the CADR is too low for that size 2. No clarity on what HEPA grade it uses. Pls shed some light from your personal experience thus far.

I bought it and I like it better than the rest of my non dyson purifiers because of the 5 year Hepa filter, but mostly because I have a sound studio that is extremely quiet and all other purifiers are too loud. Fan speed 1 is inaudible which is a shock to me. You can control it from the app and it even tells you the filter life as a percentage. It has 2 built in sensors PM10 and PM 2.5. You can check your indoor air quality index relative to your outdoor air quality index via the app. This fan has 10 speeds which is the most I've seen and it has an auto fan feature as well which is what I use since my sister always burns her food when she cooks. It circulates the house and the Dyson ramps up speed to deal with it quickly. I love it, let me know if you have any questions for me.
I have to wait to see if they release the testing report so I can verify the data, let's see if Dyson sends it to me since Energystar isn't reliable because of the shutdown and lack of public transparancy by not including the data for public verification.
They never responded to me no matter how many times I followed up, very lackluster customer service wouldn't surprise me if it's not HEPA since they couldn't provide proof.
I'm going to email EnergyStar and Dyson to request the reports I need to know because if it's not HEPA grade I'm sending it back and releasing the data to the media that would be unethical. They will have a Levoit situation on their hands.
They do claim it to be HEPA grade. Chicago, IL | September 4, 2025 Today, Dyson announces the Dyson HushJet™ Purifier Compact, engineered to deliver whole room purification with jet engine inspired high velocity airflow, ultra-quiet operation, and five times longer HEPA filter life. https://www.dyson.com/discover/innovation/new-machines/dyson-hushjet-purifier-compact Only Energy Star is making the claim it isn't, which it provides no evidence on how it came to that conclusion.
Your link says filter 1 is HEPA, I'm not understanding where it says it's not HEPA grade? Filter 2 is of coarse the carbon filter.
