NordPass

r/PasswordManagers · NordPass; anyone use it? I tested NordPass a while back and ended up ruling it out. It’s very similar to 1Password and makes a good impression overall. I also really appreciated their decision to use ChaCha20 instead of AES as their encryption method. In the end, though, it was a combination of several reasons that led me to decide against it: - The company behind NordPass claims to care about its users’ privacy, but according to Mike Kuketz, tracking services were identified in their NordVPN app. A bit hypocritical... - Aggressive marketing through product placements, where it’s often claimed that NordVPN provides significant added value in terms of security and anonymity—which, according to many experts, is an exaggeration (snake oil). - Based in Panama (I personally don’t see the supposed advantage here. It’s a matter of taste). - It’s not open source, which is a deal-breaker for me when it comes to a password manager. The only closed-source password manager that ever had my trust was 1P.

r/PasswordManagers · Surprising drawbacks with NordPass Hey! Just wanted to clear up one point here, as there seems to be some confusion. NordPass does have native desktop applications, so you don't have to access your vault through a browser extension. You can download the desktop app directly from our website or through the respective app stores for Windows, macOS, and Linux, then access your vault without opening a browser. The browser extensions are there for autofill and browser integration, but they are not required to use NordPass. As for the Safari OTP experience, thanks for pointing that out. We understand how important a seamless 2FA workflow is, and if you're running into issues specifically in Safari, we'd recommend reaching out to our support team, attach your application logs, so we can take a closer look at your setup.
r/PasswordManagers · NordPass; anyone use it? Hey. It's an unusual Autofill behavior, so we'd like to investigate more. Any chance you'd be willing to have a call/send logs to our team, so we could have a proper look and fix this? Thanks!
r/PasswordManagers · Surprising drawbacks with NordPass If you're using NordPass on desktop, then yes, the Authenticator feature is currently available through the NordPass browser extension, not the desktop app itself. The Safari extension should be supported, so you shouldn't need to install Chrome specifically.
r/PasswordManagers · Beware of NordPass renewal pricing: charged $71.88 for 1 year while new users pay $52.56 for 2 years Hi there. Our introductory offers are meant to give first-time customers a lower risk way to try NordPass, but they don’t apply to renewals. Over the past couple of years we’ve added a lot to the service: Email Masking, Documents, Data Breach Scanner, and business tools like Shared Folders, Security Dashboard, Activity Log, Dark Web Monitor. These upgrades have increased our operating costs, which is why the regular renewal price gets higher. We’ll keep working to make our pricing and renewal notifications clearer so there are no surprises as we definitely don't want our users to be disappointed.

r/PasswordManagers · NordPass; anyone use it? I got rid of paid Proton Pass after 18 months. It had problems with certain sites on a PC, and different sites on Android. Promises of tech support escalation never happened, even after 5 complaiints. I 100% beleive they don't care / don't know. I've had paid NordPass now for 3 months and it works very well. I'm very happy I changed. I'm in the US.
r/PasswordManagers · bitwarden vs proton pass: which autofill actually works? I left Proton Pass as it had this exact problem on my PC and Android, and even on different sites! I went to NordPass and it works perfectly.
r/PasswordManagers · Beware of NordPass renewal pricing: charged $71.88 for 1 year while new users pay $52.56 for 2 years I just looked at my "Billing" section and it CLEARLY shows dates and amounts that will be charged. Clear as can be.

r/PasswordManagers · 1password o nordpass I used NordPass for about 2 years before switching completely to 1Password. Back when I first got NordPass, it was basically just a freebie bundled with a long-term NordVPN plan. Over time it kept getting better with each update, and honestly, I won’t deny that today it’s a really solid (and cheap) password manager. What made me switch to 1Password was kind of funny: the UX. If you’ve ever tried 1Password, the clean and minimal design feels *way* nicer compared to NordPass. Feature-wise, 1Password also includes a few things that NordPass locks behind their business plan, like built-in 2FA support. But the biggest factor for me is trust. 1Password has been in the security space for a very long time, so I just feel it’s way more reliable than the relatively new NordPass. At the end of the day, it really comes down to personal preference. Personally, I enjoy 1Password a lot more (things like storing SSH keys or software certificates are super valuable).

r/PasswordManagers · 1password o nordpass 1password strictly because you have the option to add you're 2FAS right in the app. NordPass only offers that with their business accounts. BitWarden is also very good and has built in 2FAS as well. Not saying you have to use it, but for what you're paying NordPass not having that at least as an option makes it non-competitive to me.

r/PasswordManagers · bitwarden vs nordpass 2025 I've used both pretty extensively and I prefer Bitwarden for the simple fact that it has an authenticator built it into it, and NordPass does not. However, you can actually save and encrypt files with NordPass. NordPass has a much fancier UI, but Bitwarden is significantly cheaper. So if password and authentication are what you're looking for most, I'd go with Bitwarden. Plus some mobile browsers offer a Bitwarden extension, but not NordPass.

r/PasswordManagers · NordPass accidentally deleted an account Hey! So glad you got the account back! And yeah it sounds soo idk weird. Like im really glad they got the account back but they being able to recover an account they had deleted... Does that mean if any other user was to delete their account, would NordPass still be able to access it? Just hope they still followed their zero - knowledge architecture. But again it's the first time I'm hearing that an service deleted an account accidentally. Sounds real risky!

r/PasswordManagers · Lastpass told me to delete my account because they fucked up - Where should I go? You have a lot of options. Bitwarden and 1Password seem to be the top two. 1Password's superpower is its use of the "secret key" and the fact that it's probably the most reliable at autoentry of credentials. But that second advantage of 1Password (autoentry) is not quite as persuasive an advantage as it might seem. Bitwarden is also very reliable, and it's open source. The fact that it doesn't autoentry *everything* means that you're more aware of what's going on when you use it, which I think is a plus most of the time. NordPass is technically a little behind 1Password and Bitwarden in some ways (not in encryption, but in its compatibility with websites, its implementation of 2FA token generation which is a new thing for NordPass). I like NordPass's UI. The UX on the other hand still has some bumps. But it's worth considering. And there are many others. We're in a golden age of password managers. Using *any* third party password manager (i.e. anything NOT built by the platform you're using, that is, not from Apple Microsoft or Google) is a huge plus. The only one I would NOT recommend is LastPass.
r/PasswordManagers · 1password o nordpass Did you change your original post? You seem to me to be asking about 1Password vs **NordPass** but all the previous responders seem to think you're asking about 1Password vs Bitwarden. I feel like I've missed something (although I'm used to that feeling). Re NordPass: It's got a very attractive user interface and it's rather less complicated than 1Password is. It has fewer "features" than 1Password, but it does everything a password manager truly needs to do these days, it's very secure, and because of the less complicated feature set and the attractive design, I think a lot of people would find it easier to use than 1Password (or almost any other product on the market). Just in terms of the app itself, NordPass is my favorite. But 1Password has the advantage in one or two areas that are important to many users and might be important to you. First, 1Password can store your 2FA seeds and generate TOTPs (those temporary second-step authentication codes) for you, while NordPass for consumers cannot, at least not at this time. (NordPass commercial *can* and I get the feeling that this feature may be coming to regular NP, but it's not there yet.) Second, while NordPass does a very good job overall of logging you into websites automatically, 1Password does this better — to be honest, better than anybody else. Not a fatal flaw of NordPass in my opinion, but part of the "UX" (user experience) that isn't as good in NordPass as the "UI" (user interface). NOTE: Arguably, having your TOTPs come from someplace other than your password manager is a good thing, because it avoids the "eggs in one basket" problem. This is absolutely true. But the eggs-in-one-basket problem can be overstated. There's always a trade off between convenience and security, and we all need to find the balance between one and the other that works for us. In my opinion the main problem with NordPass's lack of support for generating TOTPs is that, in other respects, NordPass's excellence is that it makes a rather complicated technical problem easier to deal with than any of the alternatives — *except* for the fact that having to go to your authenticator to get a TOTP makes using NordPass rather *more* trouble to use than 1Password or Bitwarden et al. NOTE 2: NordPass is implementing passkeys pretty well. And if you use a passkey to sign into a site, you don't really need to have TOTP seeds in the app generating codes for you. The problem is that passkeys are still not supported as extensively or as effectively as we all hope they will be some day. Not NP's fault, but a fact that does affect NordPass's usability. That said, they're both terrific and you can sleep soundly using either one (assuming of course that you use them properly).

r/PasswordManagers · Recommendations switching from Lastpass I really like NordPass. I put my GF on it which is a huge deal because anytime she has computer/software question I am the support hotline. I gave her a quick 30 minute lesson and she hasn't had a question about using it since. I use it for password and passkeys, it has OTP built in but I dont use it. I use the Authenticator that I use as 2fa for NordPass login as the OTP for my other accounts. Whatever you choose be sure understand how to recover from lockout. Save your backup OTP's and or recovery key for the software.
r/PasswordManagers · I almost never see NordPass recommended in here. Am I missing out? I vetted NordPass's certifications, encryption(XChaCha20), regulatory compliance, and zero-knowledge architecture. I found its security to be in line with what I was looking for in for a password manager. I was a little hesitant on the help being via chat and email until I set it up and started running it. Set it up, had it running and felt like I had been using it for years within a couple of hours, very intuitive. It was so simple and powerful I decided to get my GF into using it. She is not technical at all. If she has a question I am her IT person so I wanted to be sure I wouldn't be getting calls all day about why this, and this doesn't work. I gave her a 45 minute run through and explanation why she shouldn't use the same password on 100 sites. She has been changing passwords and working with it for 6 months and I have only had like three questions from her. I think its well put together and simple to understand, from the user interface to the overall architecture. The product lands in a sweet spot for me.

r/PasswordManagers · What Password Manager Is Better In Your Honest Opinion Proton Pass, Roboform, Or Bitwarden And Why? I tried Roboform but it uses CSV for the export and won't contain secure notes, licenses, IDs, credit cards, etc. I use these a great deal and the thought of manually typing it all into Robo (errorprone) was too daunting. I discarded Robo and tried Nordpass. Nordpass is not as refined as 1Password but does most of what I need. Everything exported fine. Autofill is a key feature and the extensions do an acceptable job. Cost was about $15/yr on a 2 year sub. If you use their VPN they have bundle pricing. Have not dealt with support yet so the jury's out.
r/PasswordManagers · What Password Manager Is Better In Your Honest Opinion Proton Pass, Roboform, Or Bitwarden And Why? Proton, Nord, Robo are not only half the price of 1Password - but they have a free version to support. Software requires no raw materials so the effect of inflation is minimal. I am leaving because greed is not good?

r/PasswordManagers · MY OUTRAGEOUS NORDPASS RENEWAL RATE I don't know what NordPass Locker is, but if it's a secure vault to store important and sensitive documents, Ente has that for free in their Ente Locker product. It's a new offering and they're actively developing it, but it's a nice app that works, and it gets noticeably better with every update. Second, it's ridiculous to pay that much money for a second-rate password manager. Bitwarden's free tier includes virtually all of the features that come with a paid NordPass account, and it's an unquestionably superior password manager. If you want their premium upgrade, it's $10/year. Premium gets you integrated TOTP, file attachments, and premium support. Everything else is included free. If I were you, I would do a vault export in NordPass, create a Bitwarden account, and then Import your NordPass export into Bitwarden. Get the hell away from that ridiculous subscription fee from NordPass.

r/PasswordManagers · Beware of NordPass renewal pricing: charged $71.88 for 1 year while new users pay $52.56 for 2 years Oof, that sucks thanks for the heads-up. Renewal pricing like that always feels like a slap in the face, especially when new customers get way better deals. I had a similar frustration with a different service, and it’s one of the reasons I started looking around at alternatives. Some folks I know just stick with RoboForm since it’s been steady on pricing for years, even if it doesn’t get hyped up as much as Nord or 1Password. Definitely worth shopping around before committing long term.

r/PasswordManagers · bitwarden vs nordpass 2025 My first non-browser password manager was LastPass, which was an okay experience up until they started pay-walling features that used to be free. Oh, and their almost constant data breaches I then moved to Nordpass for 4ish years, which was okay. They retired the desktop client sometime last year which sucked as it was definitely the easier way to use it, the browser extension tended to be a bit temperamental, it became infinitely more temperamental after they shoved more features in to it due to the retirement of the desktop client. My main issue is their subscription renewal terms are quite annoying. I've been using Bitwarden for a month or so and it's been okay. The UI has some annoying quirks and definitely doesn't look as polished compared to others I've used. It's got some good additional features as well. Overall it's a good choice from what I've seen. Could definitely be better but it's certainly not the worst I've seen.

Hence we do need password managers. Won’t be surprised if that’s what caused it in this case. Does make you think of yet what better options there are Good you got it back. That’s stressful. Maybe an offline backup for the most important once but that would require maintenance which is hassle as well

r/PasswordManagers · NordPass bugs: deal breaker Hi! Thanks for taking the time to write such detailed feedback. A few comments from our side: 1. This flow is covered by our release testing and we were not able to reproduce it. That said, if you're consistently experiencing it, we'd appreciate it if you could send us your logs and steps to reproduce the issue so we can investigate further. 2. X is one of the websites we regularly test before releases. We also don't have an Alt + Shift + L shortcut, so we're not sure what behavior you're referring to. On some dynamic forms, it may be necessary to trigger autofill a second time after the page finishes rendering. This is expected in certain cases and is done for security reasons. If Chromium's native autofill is appearing instead, we'd also recommend disabling the browser's built-in password manager, as it can interfere with third-party password managers. 3. Is this issue specific to PayPal, or are you seeing the same behavior across multiple websites? We'd appreciate some clarification, as that would help us determine whether this is a site-specific compatibility issue or a broader passkey-related problem. 4. We aren't aware of any widespread issue with "Keep me logged in" settings not being preserved. NordPass stores this information using the standard mechanisms available on the platform, similarly to other applications. If your browser or system isn't persisting those settings correctly, we'd need additional information to understand what's happening in your environment. 5. The browser extension is designed to work independently and doesn't require the desktop application to be running. In fact, if you're using the extension, there's generally no need to use the desktop app at the same time, as both provide access to the same vault. Running both simultaneously may also result in more frequent unlock prompts than expected. 6. NordPass currently doesn't provide system-wide autofill for native desktop applications or an integrated SSH agent. A CLI is in development, and we plan to share more as it becomes available. If you're able to provide logs, browser versions via our support for the issues above, we'd be happy to investigate further.

r/PasswordManagers · Surprising drawbacks with NordPass I don’t understand why a key feature in a “desktop app” needs a browser extension to work. How is that a desktop app anymore? And also it doesn’t work for me with the safari extension, as your website specifically says one needs a chrome extension for that feature. This is increasingly frustrating. How can I get support on this?
r/PasswordManagers · Surprising drawbacks with NordPass u/NordPass I downloaded the app. Now the problem I am seeing is that to use the OTP from the app, I need a browser extension? When I try to copy an OTP from the app I get a notification that "NordPass browser extension needs to use two-factor codes" and prompts me to install one. But I already do have a Safari extension. Perhaps it needs a Chrome one? But this is so so weird. You have an app and in order to use that native app, I need a browser extension? Can you help?
r/PasswordManagers · Surprising drawbacks with NordPass Oh wow that’s amazing! I wasn’t able to find the download for the desktop app when setting up my new purchase. But I’ll try to find it again now. Thank you for the feedback! I’ll also contact your support team to see if we can get a more seamless experience on Safari.
r/PasswordManagers · Surprising drawbacks with NordPass I meant the timed OTP codes you get using an authenticator app. For many logins you can choose an authenticator app for a secondary authenticator. Which I do. The limitation is that the Safari extension doesn’t allow one to generate/copy that code.

r/PasswordManagers · [GUIDANCE NEEDED] I'm a free NordPass user, I'm deciding to switch or not to switch to Bitwarden I ran into the same one-device limitation when I tried NordPass a while back. It got annoying fast bouncing between phone and laptop, especially when school stuff and personal logins started blending together. Bitwarden is a solid next step if you want something you're not locked into. The import process can be a bit of a mess depending on how NordPass formats your CSV, but I just took a text editor to it and cleaned things up before importing-tedious but not awful once you do a few entries by hand to verify the pattern. If you ever decide you want total control over where your vault lives, a self-hosted option like Psono makes that possible without giving up the “sync everywhere” convenience. I used it for a small project where security had to stay internal, and it worked fine across multiple devices through a browser extension and local server setup. Probably overkill if all you want is basic cross-device sync, though.

r/PasswordManagers · [GUIDANCE NEEDED] I'm a free NordPass user, I'm deciding to switch or not to switch to Bitwarden I left Nordpass due to (a) no biometrics in the Safari browser and (b) no search within secure notes. Also I find their pricing strategy a bit dubious. My choice now would be between Bitwarden and Proton Pass. For the moment I am very happy with Bitwarden. I may take another look at Proton Pass once they implement folders (due shortly). I do not buy all this chatter about Bitwarden. Being more commercial in the future just ensures its longevity in my view. Why is this a bad thing for Bitwarden but not for other password managers? I don’t get it. My number one would be 1Password but they are now asking silly money for it. Others that I tried were Roboform (good reputation but SO ugly), Keeper and Stongbox (poor UI and poor import from Nord Pass).

For me it was down to nordpass or 1password and I had problems with 1p I couldn't resolve during the trial period. If it had a free version I may well have ended up going with it.

r/PasswordManagers · NordPass; anyone use it? My subscription with 1Password is about to expire, and I’m not planning on extending it due to its 3x the price now. So after searching, I saw that the NordPass 1 year subscription is on sale, so I decided to try it. I’ve been using it for more than a month now, and so far, so good. What I noticed though is that the autofill is not as good as 1Password. But perhaps I just need to give it more time.

r/PasswordManagers · I almost never see NordPass recommended in here. Am I missing out? For me, it's more of a trust thing. Nord is a fine VPN. But I kind of want a password manager from a company who specializes in that type of thing. So I have difficulty trusting them even though I have access to their password manager. Currently, I use Bitwarden but after the price increase combined with the ability to get 1Password for free through my employer, I will be moving there.

r/PasswordManagers · I almost never see NordPass recommended in here. Am I missing out? I used NordPass for a while. It wasn’t bad at all. Nice interface but sine things that bothered me. Autofill seemed to take longer than I wanted to kick in on websites. Compared to Bitwarden or even protonpass. I’d have often unable to login to the extension (web only) for some glitch they had. Proved to me very random and interfering with work matters I didn’t like that. And the proverbial straw was something so simple. You can’t just change your own email. You have to fill a form and request it. I paid over two years ago and it was discounted so one of the questions was. How much did you pay and because I couldn’t find that transaction I wasn’t able to change my email. I know this was the way Nord keeps their security but it annoyed me enough to move on. Just my opinions. Hardly and reason to not use them. I still think it’s a good manager.

r/PasswordManagers · I almost never see NordPass recommended in here. Am I missing out? I used it for a while and it’s honestly pretty decent, you’re not using a bad manager at all. I only started looking around because autofill felt a bit hit or miss for me sometimes. Ended up trying RoboForm and it’s pretty underrated, and autofill has been more consistent which made day to day use easier.

r/PasswordManagers · As a longtime KeePass user (and fan), are other options worth considering for password sharing? There is a lot of good options. 1. Bitwarden: Free, but with not a great user experience. 2. 1Password: The best, but is expensive. 3. LastPass: No. 4. iSenhas: Good user experience and price, but don’t have Windows dedicated app. 5. Nordpass: Great price. Don’t now too much about.

r/PasswordManagers · What is the best online password manager right now? Bitwarden, NordPass,1Password, etc? Nordpass provides a real good password encryption but you need to create a strong password and use Google authenticator as double identification. the only problem with nordpass is it spends time to log you out. proton doesn't do that.

The autofill is incredibly smooth just like Google Password Manager and even credit card autofill works flawlessly. r/PasswordManagers · NordPass Android app takes too long to show fingerprint prompt NordPass feels so close to being an amazing product but fumbles at the finish line. Has probably the widest feature set to dollar ratio out of most of the password vaults but some really questionable UX choices that just make it unattractive.

r/PasswordManagers · NordPass Android app takes too long to show fingerprint prompt Seems like Nordpass is just slower at pulling up the fingerprint prompt. I've been using LastPass and on Android the biometric unlock comes up immediately with no delay which has been really convenient when I'm in a hurry.

r/PasswordManagers · Beware of NordPass renewal pricing: charged $71.88 for 1 year while new users pay $52.56 for 2 years **Update from OP:** NordPass replied to this thread. They confirmed that the early renewal charge is intentional and part of their Terms of Service. They also stated refunds are not available for renewals. So, in the end: * They admit to charging customers **before the expiration date**. * They justify it with “continuity of service” and ToS. * No refund or adjustment was offered. **Important note:** Do **not leave auto-renewal enabled.** With auto-renewal, NordPass can charge you **any price they decide at renewal time.** In my case, the renewal was almost **double** the original price — and nothing prevents them from making it triple (or more) later under the excuse of “increased operating costs.” That’s not a fair commercial practice. This just reinforces my decision: I won’t renew NordPass again, and I recommend others to **disable auto-renewal and set a reminder** to review renewal pricing manually before committing.

You can actually stack it, so when it goes on sale you can extend your subscription for cheap. It tells you the expiry at the top of the app.

r/PasswordManagers · Considering Leaving NordPass – Autofill on Android Is Driving Me Mad 😫 I'm in a quandary now with Nordpass. I was given a Key and copied it and pasted into a safe place. When I needed to use it they said it was the wrong Key. To make a long story much shorter I have spend many hours trying to get control of all my passwords and had to do that manually. Then I got another password manager and tried to then unsubscribe from Nordpass and delete it. They would only do it if I could tell them which credit card I used to subscribe with. Needless to say that was another several hours of work going through all of my credit cards to see if I could find which one was used for Nordpass. After more questions they deigned to tell me it was from July of 2023. They will only use the credit card and no other way. I am so tired of all this extra work that is getting me nowhere.

r/PasswordManagers · bitwarden vs nordpass 2025 I personally have NordPass and use it daily, no issues whatsoever. Some time ago I was researching different options as well, but the price was good, and the features fit my needs, so never looked back. Of course my research consisted of just checking a few reddit posts, but I managed to find a "passreddit" discount in one of them for like 50% off if I remember correctly.

r/PasswordManagers · 1Password vs. NordPass for Managing Both Personal and Business Passwords: Which is Better? I've just come across NordPass as I was looking through my NordVPN account and noticed I can download NordPass for free as its included with the subscription. My understanding from NordPass Standard vs Premium is some additional features which aren't that relevant to me. I have a 1Password subscription and I'm seriously considering ending that and shifting to NordPass just to save on having to pay for an additional service when I can get almost the same service for free with my VPN subscription. Does anyone recommend I do this or keep my 1Password subscription?

r/PasswordManagers · Any Negatives of NordPass? Or should I pull the trigger on Bitwarden? NordPass is relatively new and will improve over time but already rates very highly in comparisons. I dont think the free version offers enough to be worthwhile though. I’ve just switched from Dashlane to NordPass because 1. NordPass is considerably cheaper but rates the same, more or less, 2. I have Nord VPN and am happy with it. I confess I miss the familiarity I have with Dashlane, despite Dashlane having some annoying aspects itself, and i dont love having to work out how to integrate NordPass to make it work seamlessly with my Apple system to start - small things, but still. That said, customer service got back to me within 24 -48 hours with an answer (I can’t remember the exact number of hours), which was fine by me.
