I used calisim.com bc of their price (also Cali based) and it turned out p decent speeds at all areas in Europe. I got their regional plan for about 20$ for 10GB, more than sufficient. Holafly wanted 50$ for a two weeks plan lmao almost double

As you are going to be in Spain for a year, you do not need Holafly, Airalo, etc as they are designed for travelers. What you need is a Spanish network SIM Card or eSIM. Contact your university / colleagues Student Union or Erasmus office, who should be able to recommend a network for you, including a possible student discount.

Not a fan of Holafly as I think it’s overpriced, but all eSIM companies can have technical issues and when they do you just need to wait between 1-48hrs for a reply so 4hrs isn’t that long a wait in this space. My suggestion - and this is relevant for *any* provider you’re having issues with - spend $15 on another euro eSIM from a different company and just get a refund or credit from the one you’re having problems with without stressing about how many hours you’re waiting for a response.

There is no “best” eSIM provider. Saily and Holafly are are both good - as are many others. Support isn’t great for any travel eSIM company. If you don’t know what you’re doing then you’re not going to have a good experience going through support for any of them. Best advice, if it doesn’t work just buy a different one and ask for a refund from the first company. If the second one doesn’t work then you’re doing something wrong. In the US (as with all countries) local providers like T-Mobile are much better than any travel eSIM in terms of latency. A differentiator for the US (and UK among others) is that local providers are very easy to get and also often cheaper than travel eSIMs. T-Mobile prepaid is a little pricier than other options such add Tello and US Mobile.

Holafly is a rip off. Airalo Eurolink plans are expensive, they have a Czech Republic plan (with voice & text) that is about $20US for 10GB across Europe. MobiMatter is a reseller, so they aren’t the ones selling the data. Never heard of Airdatalink, stay away from all the low end resellers on eSIMdb. Other good providers that support multi country EU roaming are Roamless, JetPac, Sparks, BNE SIM.

Holafly advertises unlimited service - which it is - but they usually don’t tell you the amount of data used before they throttle you. That’s the main reason experienced users here stay away from them. Otherwise, they are a legit company and they aren’t trying to scam you - I also haven’t seen them surfing Reddit often so I don’t think this post will help you get a refund.

This sounds like user error if you’re saying “it just didn’t work”. Android phones sometimes require APN settings and Android & iPhone both require roaming be enabled. Possible that you got a bad eSIM from Holafly - but that’s possible with any provider. I don’t think Holafly is any less reliable than the others. Since Holafly is a legitimate company you can just request a refund - you won’t be out anything.

Airalo unlimited works. Holafly also has a GB limit before they slow you down. Be sure you compare that 3GB daily max bucket of GB plans when considering the value.

Sounds like you knew it wasn’t unlimited at high speed - you’re just surprised it was only 500MB? 10 days of Holafly in Nigeria cost $50 for 5GB of full speed. 30 days of total 10GB also costs $50 from other providers. 5GB (what you got) cost $30. Seems to me like full speed data is the better deal…

I don’t think this stops you from using those eSIMs in Turkey - as long as you buy them before you get to Turkey. It’s meant to prevent Turks from buying them in Turkey so that when they roam they need to use their local carrier’s expensive roaming.

Holafly is no better than other popular providers - they are all pretty good and have all the bugs sorted out. Holafly’s differentiation is that they are unlimited, when in reality they are limited to as little as 1GB a day before speeds slow drastically. If you aren’t hitting this limit you didn’t need them in the first place. Unfortunately Holafly isn’t very transparent about their data limits. In most cases, a much cheaper 30 day fixed amount plan is more than enough and significantly cheaper. Overpaying for Holafly isn’t really a benefit.

There’s not much difference between them - usually none between the bigger companies in terms of service quality. There is a difference in quality with the really cheap providers. The bigger brands have started to differentiate themselves with their rewards programs and added features. If anyone tells you big brand A is terrible ignore the rest of what they have to say - none are “bad”. I don’t even think Holafly is bad despite the negative posts the last few days, most of us just have an issue with their lack of transparency in terms of full speed data.

Some eSIMs need to be manually “activated”. Not sure if Holafly is one of those, but if it’s working you’re good to go. They can’t charge you extra, this is prepaid - it’s just a bad UI.

You’re not getting ripped off. Either buy a smaller package temporarily in the hope they sort your issue out or buy a larger package and just wait for a refund. Most people don’t have any issues with an eSIM from any company, some people do. Holafly is no worse than any other. The problem with all eSIM companies is their support isn’t as fast as people would expect consideration it’s often their only solution when they are away from home and don’t notice it’s not working until their at their destination. Most of us travel with a backup eSIM because they are so cheap and the impact of a non-working travel eSIM to great. Pay as you go eSIMs like Roamless are great for this. But spending $10 on any backup esim is money well spent.

Airalo is expensive for EU roaming so they’re also not recommended. In terms if them having an outage - all providers can have an issue - does not mean Holafly is immune - just that for your particular trip it was fine. Similar to how every eSIM I’ve used have been fine for my trips. Most posts about Holafly on here are about customers asking for refunds because they didn’t get an eSIM a customer service not responding. So pick your poison I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t know that any number would qualify as fair use for a customer that was lured in with promises of “unlimited” data. Also, many people are reporting much less than 10GB/day - this is the first time I’m hearing such a high number. If I could actually believe that number then I think I personally think it’s a fair amount - as long as people know what they’re buying - but I’m sure there are others that would disagree. If I’ve got a 10 day trip and I can use 10GB per day for $xx vs 50GB over 30 days for $yy then I can make an informed decision. Without transparency it’s difficult to recommend. That all said, your initial recommendation was based on network performance which you said “you pay for”. I still contended that Holafly is no better than any of providers mentioned in this sub that offer a “bucket” of data for a much cheaper price.

Their chat says 10GB but other users say 3-5GB? When you buy an eSIM it doesn’t mention any limit - that’s what I mean by lack of transparency. I, like most people on this sub, don’t use them for that reason. Most of the posts/comments about Holafly in this sub are negative, I was incorrect with the 1GB, it was 500MB of hotspot data before the user was cut off from their “unlimited” data. Other users have complained about advertising “up to 5G” but getting 3G instead. I have no problem with limited high speed, unlimited lower speeds - there’s a market for everything - my issue is their lack of transparency.

They all work the same. Either a setup issue with Holafly (did you turn on roaming?) or it could have been a malfunction. Holafly, Airalo, Nomad are all reputable and the same technical issue you experienced with Holafly could happen with all of them.

You had the same issue in Bali and you still went with Holafly?🤔 In addition, as posted by u/L0rdLogan, Holafly unlimited plan will be throttled if you go over a daily limit or fair use policy will be enforced. Neither of these are disclosed by Holafly. I generally do not recommend unlimited data plans from any provider because of these limitations

Holafly, will work just fine in Italy. However, Holafly generally is not recommended on this my subreddit. Their unlimited data are based on the fair use policy which is no where to be found. In addition, IMHO, their price per day is very expensive.

And holafly isn't truly unlimited anyways. How much data are you looking to get? How much time will you be spending in each country? Sometimes it's cheaper to get country specific Esim or a local Esim. For example, you can get Dtac happy tourist Esim for Thailand for $18 and it will include 30 GB of data and credit for calls. Dtac Esim can be purchased directly from Dtac or resellers like Airalo or Nomad

I do not see any specials for FIFA only your standard regional plan.

Holafly isn't a scam. You just need to understand what you are purchasing. I personally used Airalo in Japan. I used their Japan esim and Asia esim, both worked just fine for my needs. If you only need data for Google maps, you do not need much data. You might consider looking into a pay as you go plan like Roamless Flex which is only $2.45 per GB and your funds never expire.

Holafly Esim routes data traffic via Hong Kong. You can try using VPN if you need to access those sites or apps

If roaming toggle was off, you wouldn't be able to connect at all. Therefore, more likely the issue was that your data got throttled. However, no one can help you to troubleshoot your issue after the fact. If you have an issue, post it here and we can help to troubleshoot

Holafly unlimited plans will be throttled daily. Never heard of easysim.global. I used Airalo for high data usage needs. Used over 20 GB in one day in China and speeds were just fine. BNEsim is actually highly recommended here for Turkey as it's cheap and reliable as per users reporting.

You fell into the usual trap of unlimited data. There is no real unlimited data on ANY travel provider eSIM and for that reason no one here recommends providers like Holafly who lie about it. If you need a high data limit, you have to go to a local operator. You should be able to sign up to [Spusu Italy](https://www.spusu.it/) on their website, Iliad is also known to be easy to sign up to but you will have to go in a store (due to ID checks).

Real unlimited data is not possible on travel eSIM products. Holafly advertise it but will throttle you. Almost all other travel eSIMs are the same. You can get extremely high data limits from local providers, eg Free Mobile will do 350GB for €20.

No regulars here recommend Holafly anyway due to "fake" unlimited data (untransparent fair use policy), high prices and unknown routing (often poor).

All the ones you have mentioned are reputable. Just go with the cheapest option that gives you enough data for your trip. If you specifically mention how much data you need it is easier to advise, but you haven't so we can't say. Ignore unlimited data like Holafly. It is throttled at some unknown amount so a waste of money. There is no real unlimited data.

Most travel eSIM companies issue out of a third country somewhere, so yes you need data roaming on. Holafly usually issues out of cheap, slow routing destinations like Hong Kong hence it is never recommended on this sub.

Almost any travel eSIM provider (and most local providers) do not really offer unlimited data. The good ones tell you the throttling up front (eg maybe 10GB per day then 128kbps). The ok ones link to a fair use policy. The bad ones, including Holafly, hide it vaguely in their terms. The worst ones don't tell you anything.

I'd get a refund and get something more reputable with better routing and no fake unlimited myself... But if you really want to stick to them, it shouldn't activate before roaming is on but they do caveat it themselves to pass responsibility, unlike other providers that are clear it won't activate until you actually connect to a local network.

They're just big, moved first and have big marketing budgets. I have nothing wrong with Airalo as they are clear and (generally) work, they're just overpriced in most countries. The same way as big carriers are in my/most countries vs MVNOs. Holafly is, in my opinion, worst of the big players because they advertise unlimited data whilst not really offering it, but it sells because people just think they need it. This is barely different to the US carriers who have done the same thing for years, they simply hide in fair use policies and get away with it due to weak regulations, relying on the vast majority of people who never needed unlimited data in the first place to bump up their reviews. In Europe, carriers cannot hide behind vague fair use policies as regulations don't allow them too. Several networks have got in trouble for it. Holafly isn't subject to that, for now, I'm sure it'll come.

In Ireland real unlimited data for 1 month should be a maximum of €20 (from local operators Vodafone.ie or Three.ie) which a very quick search on this sub would have shown.

No eSIM will work if you have carrier lock. You will have to either get your phone unlocked, or use roaming by AT&T. No one here will recommend Holafly either, it is expensive and fake unlimited (you get throttled after an amount of use they don't tell you - often 1-2GB and hotspot is very limited).

Why don't you check your phone usage or phone bill for how much you usually use and go from there? You can always buy more data or another eSIM if you run out. Holafly is not really unlimited, you get throttled after using a certain amount (that they don't tell you).

There is no resource for this. For a guaranteed local IP you have to go to a real local provider. For US there's many... (eg Tello, US Mobile, Visible, Lyca US...) Beyond that it ranges from: * they tell you: Escape eSIM tells you the underlying provider, Nesa Mobile tells you the IP breakout * they don't tell you but it's owned by a carrier so always them: GoMoWorld is Eir Ireland, Red Bull Mobile is A1 Austria, Orange Travel is Orange France * they don't tell you but it's well known: Sparks is well known to be Plus Poland, esim.sm's global plan is also Plus Poland as is DENT, Roamless is known to be a US local breakout * they don't tell you at all, you can try to ask but they might change it with no notice: most providers including Airalo, Holafly, Nomad

You're not missing anything, it's a real local service so has prices closer to what locals pay. I believe there is some fair usage policy on that plan but you'll need to delve into the Portuguese terms - but it's far better than the many fake unlimited plans around like Holafly. It's been suggested on here before when people specifically need Portugal. But often people travel to multiple countries so other options are more suitable.

Any travel eSIM (including Holafly) is not really unlimited. You get throttled or restricted (eg on hotspot). If you really, really need unlimited data, you have to go to a local provider, if it's available at all. Most UK companies include Ireland, and many include the whole EU. iD Mobile does a pay as you go eSIM for £20 that will work in both the UK and Ireland. They usually have a 30GB EU Roaming limit but this doesn't apply to Ireland. That's going to be the closest to what you want. You must activate it in the UK, not before.

Take it as a sign not to use Holafly, as most of the regulars on this sub would suggest you should steer well clear of their throttled, poorly routed, expensive product.

Holafly has an extremely untransparent fair use policy, with no information on throttling and routing, plus is generally very expensive. It's why it's never recommended here. The best performance is almost always going direct to local operators, although sometimes less convenient. Andorra Telecom, the only operator there, sell eSIMs directly on their website. For lower users/shorter trips there are reputable eSIMs like Sparks.

Go to one of the local networks, epic, Melita or GO. As you have now found out, no travel eSIMs give you real unlimited data and Holafly is notorious for throttling.

Holafly could find out the level of throttling if they really wanted but it is easier for them to just pass the blame. The recent "research" about them just reselling Hong Kong eSIMs etc corroborates this - CMLink (direct sales by China Mobile Hong Kong, in many countries Holafly is merely reselling a CMHK eSIM) they tell you the amount of daily high speed data on their various plans before you buy. If Holafly actually cared they could present it like that. But instead selling fake unlimited data and blaming their "supplier" is their business model. The issue is there is 0 transparency (not even in their terms somewhere) around their "unlimited" data and the speed can become unusable sometimes from as little as 1GB use in a day depending on country. I would always pick a local operator over an untransparent travel provider like Holafly (who also has a hard hotspot limit).

If you need unlimited or a very high allowance, you have to go a local operator. It does not look like any operator there will give you unlimited data on a prepaid plan, but A1.mk will do 50GB for 999den (about 16€) or mtel.mk 40GB for 499den (about 8€) Holafly is fake unlimited, it will throttle after anywhere from about 1-3GB a day (and they don't tell you the amount). If you haven't noticed this, it probably shows that you don't actually need unlimited data.

Holafly, along with most other "unlimited" data travel eSIMs. is poorly regarded by regulars here due to numerous issues including "fake" (throttled) untransparent unlimited data, poor routing and very high pricing. Get a local eSIM from a network like Lebara or 1p Mobile that includes EU roaming. No eSIM or even local plan has real unlimited data - fair use is usually around 500-800GB on local plans. On overpriced, untransparent providers like Holafly, fair use is as little as a few GB per day. There is no real unlimited data on any provider across Europe, they will have fair use limits somewhere (usually much lower than the domestic allowance). https://www.lebara.co.uk/en/msm/p/44000021.html Lebara will give you 100GB inc 30GB EU roaming for £4.49/month for 3 months, then £11.99, which is quite reasonable. 100GB is 4x the average user, and wifi is available readily across Europe. This is the network I use myself.

Quite difficult to give any recommendation without knowing how much data you need... All the providers you mention are large and reputable (although personally I would avoid Holafly for being expensive and fake unlimited) You can also consider Three UK's pay as you go (also on eSIM) as it includes roaming in Costa Rica and generally they have good network partners, although routing back to the UK may be a bit slower.

Holafly is usual fake unlimited, in that you will get thottled after a few GB use in a day. Don't bother. Lots of Europe suppliers like Mobimatter Sparks, Vodafone Travel etc. Use those first, if you need more data once you get to the UK get a UK eSIM like Lebara or Lyca which will also include Ireland and be cheaper, but has to be activated in the UK.

Real unlimited data does not exist on travel eSIMs. You almost always have a fair use policy and will be thorttled (often to unusable speed). Holafly is one of the most notorious for this and is extremely expensive for what they offer. They also don't tell you the fair use policy making it difficult to know. If you really need a huge allowance, you need to get a local SIM/eSIM from a provider within the country you go to. It's easy to get huge/unlimited allowances in countries like Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

I connect my devices to WiFi overnight and never leave hotspot on... I don't have unlimited data at home either so it's the exact same situation. Plus make use of low data mode and turn off WiFi assist/unnecessary apps. Holafly is trashed on because it is not real unlimited data, it is throttled. Whilst that might help your case if you blow through the 1GB a day (or whatever it is, they don't tell you) overnight then the whole rest of the your day is at some unusable speed like 128kbps.

All the ones you have mentioned are reputable. Just go with the cheapest option that gives you enough data for your trip. If you specifically mention how much data you need it is easier to advise, but you haven't so we can't say. Ignore unlimited data like Holafly. It is throttled at some unknown amount so a waste of money. There is no real unlimited data.

You want a local SIM/eSIM. Not a travel one like Holafly. It doesn't massively matter which you go for, service on the different operators in Spain is not hugely different. Just pick who offers a deal that works for you, you will may need to do it in store as they have to check your ID.

I cannot say more about specific providers because I simply have not enough knowledge about their performance BUT they are mostly regarded as being reliable. Or you could go with pay-as-you-go alternatives like [Roamless] or esim.sm's Global eSIM, the latter being a bit more budget friendly (and possibly has higher ping times). These P-A-Y-G alternatives can be good if you are unsure about how many GB you will use. If cost matters, maybe buying multiple regional esims (e.g. Europe, South East Asia, ...) might be cheaper than a Global sim for the whole time. Note that all these are data-only, so you won't have a phone number/texting. There are alternatives like WhatsApp/whatever the locals use that you can mostly register with your home country number. Holafly itself cannot. It is (like most travel eSIM products) data-only, there is no phone attached that you could use for iMessage. Also disable Auto-switch data eSIM. Then you DISABLE data roaming for the home SIM (like you already have based on the screenshot) and ENABLE it for Holafly. Both Airalo and Holafly have a high speed data cap (usually per day). Airalo tells you how many GB in their plan details and Holafly sometimes yes, sometimes no (I've seen mentions of 90GB per month, so about 3GB per day of high speed).

Seems like you setup everything correctly. If you are only getting H+, it could be an APN issue since you probably should be seeing 4G/LTE or 5G. Other than that, Holafly problems are pretty common recently. Just search this sub for 'Holafly' and the first 10 results minimum will be negative. They do not offer unlimited data (misleading), it is only a 1-3GB per day (depending on the country) and unusably slow after.

We cannot guarantee anything 100% here but if your Italian SIM was turned off, there is basically a 0% chance that it was used for data. Holafly probably had something configured that data roaming worked even without the toggle being on.

Unlimited is not unlimited high speed for both Holafly and Airalo. You will get a set amount of high speed data per day and slow speed after. Trust me, I am pretty sure Holafly's tech department knows exactly how many GB the user can use in each country before throttling because this is almost certainly stated in their contract with the network/resell partner. They (Holafly) just don't want to tell you and they hide it with vague wording in their TOS (otherwise people would complain that it is not actually unlimited). If it were the local network/MVNO itself that was throttling the data, that would not happen at under 10GB/day usage because that would almost certainly not be considered excessive usage. **Now obviously that is just an assumption by me.** But eSIMaccess, which is a big reseller of travel data esims (they would be the middleman between the provider you buy from and the local network), also tells its clients (that you buy from) exactly how much high speed data per day the unlimited plans get. Some will display it clearly to their customers (like Nesa Mobile when they still existed) and many others don't.

Do you have an unlocked device? Did you activate data roaming? Did you check the APN settings? Did you try to restart the device? Did you set the primary SIM for data usage to Holafly? Most of the time it's user error that the eSIM does not work. Still, ghosting someone like this is never a good business tactic. If you tried all that and it still doesn't work, the issue is more likely on Holafly's side. If you haven't heard anything after let's say a week, you could dispute the charges with your bank.

I’ve tried both Holafly and RedteaGO in Italy and Switzerland. Holafly generally had more reliable coverage and better speeds, especially outside the cities. RedteaGO was more affordable but sometimes patchy. For basic stuff like YouTube and maps, either can work depending on your budget and how much you mind occasional slow spots

I’ve used both in Japan and the Philippines, and I’m on my phone all the time too, trains, late nights, you name it. Holafly’s unlimited is super easy, but they can slow you down if you use a lot. It’s fine for scrolling, but streaming or loading stuff got laggy for me after a bit. Airalo gives you full-speed data, but it’s capped, so you gotta keep an eye on it. I like that it lets you hotspot though. Lately I’ve been using a third option that’s worked better across multiple countries happy to share if you're curious.

Holafly is pretty overpriced in general, they get you on the "unlimited data" when most people barely use any data when traveling. Compare $6/day on Holafly to Japan data esim for $8 that gives 10GB useable over 30 days, from IIJ via Mobimatter. If you're only in Japan for one day or you manage to burn over 10GB in a day then go with Holafly, but I would instead advise that you get off your phone and enjoy your trip instead of watching so much videos :)

Quite normal. Roamless uses eSIMs from Proximus in Belgium, Holafly uses Orange France, Drimsim is Orange Poland, and so it goes…

Ubigi clearly state 1Mbps, which is actually still usable, for a few things. The 1st and last time I tried Holafly they throttled down to 150Kbps. Might as well cut you off.

Ones that do freely allow it; Ubigi, Roamless, KeepGo and Saily, at least those are the ones I've done it with, so far. And Holafly 'unlimited'? It is not, far from it. Got throttled to 150Kbps after 5GB on the 1st day. So yes, sim swapping is something I expect, just like with a physical sim. If you as a provider don't let me switch phones, you don't get my money. It's that simple.

Avoid Holafly! Their tech support is a nightmare! They sent me the qr code when i was returning to my country and I have almost one week asking for refund, and I'm really disappointed. You have to wait almost 24 hours for an agent to text you back, and you just have like 15 minutes and if you don't reply the chat just close and you have to start again.

You can get a Vodafone eSIM online with a phone number and a decent amount of data for a great price: [https://esimprepago.vodafone.es/](https://esimprepago.vodafone.es/) Once you’re settled in Spain, you can look around and potentially switch to your preferred provider (while keeping your number). The only thing is that if you register now using your passport (rather than a Spanish NIE), you'll also need to use your passport when switching later (or explain that it’s currently registered under your passport). Do NOT get Holafly. If you want to waste your money, there are much better ways to do it, the quality is poor, and you don't even get a phone number.

Holafly is not a scam. I do have criticism of them, but it’s not a scam. In Japan, the last time I tested holafly they worked as reseller of CM Link (China Mobile International). Your data traffic then runs via China and Singapore, which can feel a bit slow. Latency is somewhat poor. I don’t recommend them, but it’s not a scam. At most some aggressive marketing and not very transparent. If you say how long you’re going and how much data you need, you’ll probably get some good recommendations. For unlimited (if you really need that), Sim Local is good, they sell a plan from the local au. I often read people being enthusiastic about an unlimited KDDI plan, but I haven’t tested it myself. Up to about 25 GB, Airalo and Ubigi are good options.

Holafly uses CMLink (China Mobile Wholesale) in Asia for most destinations. So do a lot of budget providers, where you pay only a fifth or less of what Holafly charges. Performance isn't the best either. Ubigi is pretty solid in my experience, especially in that region because they have an egress in South Korea (with local ip assigned, also in Japan). Most Asia plans route over Singapore or Hong Kong. On a budget I would recommend Jambosim: they use Webbing when I tested it, with routing over several Asian points. It was exactly the same service as Saily and Airalo Asialink, but very cheap. The user experience with Saily and Airalo is better, however, but for just data Jambosim is fine. I also like Eskimo, but it breaks out over Singapore. Speeds are very good however. I would avoid HK breakout because several services can be blocked (LLMs, social media).

Post this on the Holafly Trustpilot page. They are very eager to have negative reviews removed, so you’ll probably have it quicker.

Yes, get a refund. I tested them in several European countries the last 2 months. They switched to a Spanish network wholesaleprovider (cogent). They were consistently slower than most budget providers, with the highest ping (often over 300 ms) and also very limited on upload. It’s not worth the price. Budget providers consistently performed better.

Holafly isn’t really unlimited. You’re capped at 90 GB per month, and they can throttle your connection at any moment if they suspect you’re exceeding a pro-rata usage limit . Once they throttle you, the speed becomes unusable; I couldn’t even get basic text messages to send. On top of that, the latency is poor. Meanwhile, Telstra offers an 80 GB tourist eSIM for half the price. If you want a hassle-free travel eSIM: Sim Local offers plans with a transparent 10 GB per day limit. Just keep in mind they aren't available for longer than two weeks, so you'll need to top up if you're staying longer.

I have experience with them in several European countries including the Netherlands (just not Germany). You likely be fine, you just overpaid for what you get. In terms of speed and latency they are not as good as other brands like airalo, Ubigi eyc. But in Europe very acceptable. I only had some serious speed (and upload) issues with them in the UK. Also, hotspot usage is not that good, often limited and in my experience it doesn't work at all 25% of the times. Unless you are using more then 3GB a day (every day) or wanted to use them for remote work you'll be just fine. What's always a good idea is to have a backup just in case. For example bcengi pay as you go. Also, if you ever need support remember that Emma (who you speak to) is AI and that the "specialist" (the actual human being) may take some hours to respond. In that cases it helps to have a backup.

Airalo has plans in Canada that include voice (and they are better in Canada than Holafly). With Holafly, you have to use your UK SIM card to make calls and trigger an expensive day pass. With Airalo +1 is not needed. With Holafly in combination with your home plan for voice +1 is required. However, using the country code never hurts, no reason to leave it out. Perhaps others here know more alternatives besides Airalo that include voice.

You can find it in the FAQ on each country page, under the third tab. They offer 90 GB per month and monitor usage dynamically. Basically they network provider (not the local network) can do whatever they like. Sometimes thet let you use 12 to 20 GB on a day, then the next you can't use it at all etc. It’s still vague and hidden, but at least it's something. However, 90 GB for the price they ask is, of course, not that great of a deal. "This eSIM includes unlimited data for the corresponding valid days. However, please note that the operator may reserve the right to apply a Fair Usage Policy, as it applies to all other network users. In particular, **if the operator estimates the usage of more than 90GB of data in a month, they may temporarily reduce the speed to between 256-1024KB to avoid affecting other users.** This limitation is intended to prevent network saturation and will be removed within 24 hours. If you think the local carrier has limited your speed, please get in touch with us by chat, and we will check if there is any incidence and how to restore your rate to the maximum speed permitted by the network." In my experience. After getting your speed freduced you don't get 256-1024KB, but way less or you get cut off.

Routing via UK doesn’t help either. I always thought that they used China Mobile in Asia (but they might be different with a global plan). The best global plans have dynamic breakout. To be honest I haven’t been to Vietnam recently, but I think Ubigi and Jetpac will be save bets. Both will route trough Singapore, Ubigi adds a local ip. Sim Local recently added real local plans. I saw someone else recently recommend micro eSIM for real local plans as well.

Holafly cuts you off completely in most cases, but it depends on whose data they are reselling (can be Orange, Drei or China Mobile). Real Unlimited data doesn't exist on roaming plans, but Saily is at least transparent. Also look at Firsty, thatight be cheaper

Holafly can be somewhat strict and annoying to deal with if you ask for a refund on an already installed plan. Especially if you didn’t ask them to fix it. What I would do is buy an eSIM from a competitor to cover the first day. Not sure where you are so hard to give advice, but just something simple. And contact Holafly support. You first have to deal with Emma who is a bot. But I managed to surpass her by asking for a human agent. Human agents often take a couple of hours te respond, just leave the chat open. And ask them for a fix or a refund. They might ask you to reset network setting, be careful doing so if they suggest it (it also erases WiFi setting and networks). Likely you get a new eSIM, and if that doesn’t work you get a refund (make sure to get in cash en not coins or a voucher).

Ubigi is actually very good in Europe. They are French of origin. The only disadvantage is that Montenegro is not included in the standard Europe package, so you immediately have to opt for the more expensive Europe Extended plan. Saily is also great! Only they are more expensive, and because of Montenegro you have to choose a Global plan straight away. I am not a fan of Holafly; they are very expensive and not transparent. Here, too, you are forced to go with a global plan because of Montenegro, which will cost you nearly USD 10 a day. Some cheap options are JamboSim (Europe, 42 countries including Montenegro), eSIM4Travel Best Europe 41 countries, and RedteaGO Europe Plus. If you want to go with a premium brand, I think Ubigi Europe Extended is the best choice. However, Extended is more expensive, and you will end up paying more than necessary in Italy, Greece, and Spain just because of Montenegro. If It would be my trip I would doubt between RedteaGO and Ubigi, and probably go with RedteaGO because of the price. But Ubigi can be slightly more solid in terms of network (used them in 3 of the 4 countries you name). Just make sure Montenegro is covered or buy separate Europe and Montenegro plans.

Do you mean Superalink? If so: the quality is decent. They are a reseller of China Mobile (just like Holafly is in that region, for example). What I noticed is that they are faster than Holafly, much less capped. However, I didn't get 5G in Korea, only 4G. I didn't use them in Japan. You can't track your data usage. It's fine as a budget option. In Korea, I got just under 100 Mbps down, with routing via Singapore. Better options are available, but the price is good and it will do the trick for most people.

I recently visited Morocco and tested several providers for work purposes. All providers relying solely on Orange caused issues outside of major cities, though they worked well within city limits. Regarding the list you mentioned: Yesim throttles their unlimited plans heavily right from the start (that is standard practice for them; their unlimited packages are always slow). The best options were Ubigi and Holafly. They use Maroc Telecom, which is better than Orange, even when limited to LTE/4G. I prefer Ubigi because they are more transparent, but I was surprised by how well Holafly performed, as I am usually not a fan of theirs. You are looking for an unlimited plan but wondering if 10 GB might be enough. Only you can answer that based on your specific usage. However, you pay a premium for unlimited data, especially in Morocco, and all providers will throttle your speed at a certain point. If you truly require a large amount of data, it is better to purchase a local eSIM upon arrival. If you need more than 20 GB, I would recommend going with a local eSIM. Check your current data usage in your device settings. Most tourists find that 10 GB is more than enough for a five-day trip.

It is difficult to give good advice without knowing how much data you need. However, there are few scenarios in which Holafly is the best choice, and perhaps even less if you truly need unlimited data. The vast majority of people use less than 20 GB a month (often much less). In that case, you can easily be sorted for 10 Dollars (for example, a jambosim eSIM for Europe & the UK costs 8.99). It's really worth it to check your usage. If you really need substantially more, you could also buy a local option upon arrival (sometimes also online beforehand). But in that case, it does matter whether you arrive in Portugal or Spain first. And there are more options available in Madrid than in Bilbao, etc. What I think I would do personally: Ubigi Europe plan up to 25 GB, they also have a visual location feature that allows you to set your IP to local or to the US. With the latter, services from back home keep working properly.Above 25 GB, it really depends on what you need and where you stay first (because of EU roaming rules).

Working with different ones will likely give you the best value, also depends on how long you’re in the country. Japan: my favourite was Sim Local (the au plan). It’s a genuine Japanese data plan. Ubigi and Airalo are also (especially if you need less than 20GB). Holafly was actually pretty poor with routing via China Mobile. High latency and low speeds, first one to stop working in busy places. Korea: Ubigi has local servers in Korea and was the most stable when I tried. Airalo fine but routed via Singapore (although then also sell the local LG plan with kyc, didn’t test that one). Holafly same as Japan, sometimes even gave me a Shanghai ip address so some apps stopped working and slow from the start. No recent experience in Vietnam. If you want one provider for all three countries, Ubigi.

’m currently in Greece and have been testing some eSIMs for work. Recommendations: Nomad (Europe plan), GoMoWorld (also Europe). They won’t help you with voice though, unless you have Wi-Fi calling. If you don’t have voice, esimo offers a temporary number for voice and text. I wouldn’t necessarily get their eSIM, but the app also works for calls and SMS. Not recommended in my opinion: Orange travel (the only one limited to 4G) and Holafly (no upload, so VoIP doesn’t work).​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

No issues using eSIMs in Istanbul. Tested several and they all work as expected. The law that came into effect on May 1st is about how long you're allowed to use a device in Turkey without paying tax on it, which is a maximum of 120 days. So unless you're here for more than 4 months per calendar year, it's not a problem. I'm also not sure whether Turkish providers register your IMEI the moment you start roaming on a foreign eSIM. It is definitely an issue if you use a local SIM card for more than 120 days in Turkey and didn't buy your phone here. I can also access most provider websites and apps just fine. At first I thought I could access all of them, because a lot of hotels etc. have their DNS routing set up through Google, which apparently lets them bypass local censorship (even without a VPN). When I'm on a pure Turkish connection, Airalo, Holafly etc. are indeed blocked, but a lot of others aren't. But I can confirm Airalo works if you have it installed before you you travel. So I would say, buy and install in advance just to be sure. Perhaps get a backup pay as you go (Bcengi was faster then Roamless on a sidenote).

Yes: don’t use unlimited (Yesim, Holafly etc) those are slow from the start and not just after you hit a cap. Also they often block hotspots. I really like providers using Telna (Jetpac, Bcengi etc). I found this also work in more remote provinces (where others aren’t allowed to roam) and get solid speeds. Jetpac has some deals every now and then. Routing is via Singapore. Eskimo is also solid, it’s a Singtel MVNO. An eSIM I’ve used several times is the one from Three Hong Kong (MobiMatter has it), stable and with optional HK phone number. Perfect if you would also visit HK and Macao, just remember it has kyc for usage within HK.

I've tested several eSIMs in Norway and Finland (haven't been to Iceland or Denmark recently). Most of the better eSIM brands are all solid: Nomad, Jetpac, Ubigi, GoMoWorld, Voye Global, Maya. Your safe by to just pick the cheapest one from these. They often route through the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland or the UK. Speeds were all between 200 and 1000 Mbps. If you're leaning more towards the budget category: Sparks (via Mobimatter), eSIM4Travel and Pingwe are also good. Slightly slower, but still comfortably above 100 Mbps. These providers usually route through Poland or Austria. One thing to watch out for: be careful with some of the budget providers from Asia. They'll work fine technically, but in Scandinavia you really don't want an IP address coming out of Singapore or Hong Kong. Holafly was a bit of a letdown price-wise, and after 13 GB the "unlimited" data stopped. Still fine for 90% of travelers though, although speeds seemed capped at just above 100 Mbps from the start. Airalo used the same probider as Spark and eSIM4Travel for the Europe plan, it works fine but you can get it cheaper elsewhere. Northern European countries tend to be quite expensive when it comes to local prepaid SIMs (haven't verified this in Iceland). So personally would skip that option. I would personally probably pick GoMoWorld Europe plan for this trip.

If you visit a country checkout page from Holafly (like Japan), scroll all the way down to the faq, 3th tab and then the last question. They’re you’ll find the faq description. They tend to change the text every know and then, currently it states 90 GB (if the network provider thinks you use more then 90 on a monthly base etc)

Airalo is fine, but I wouldn’t use them for unlimited data. I tested Airalo a few month back and they have a local ip. But there are better deals with more generous fair use policy. I would not use Holafly. It uses a roaming profile from China Mobile and speeds are capped from the start, latency is poor. They have a hidden fup in the faq (90 gb per month, so 3 per day) If you have to choose between those two: Airalo. But I really liked the Unlimited AU plan (from Sim Local), they give you at least 10 GB per day and it’s truly local. Also saw some good things about KDDI plans via klook lately, but didn’t test those.

Holafly often uses CMLink wholesale for their Asian plans, so I’m surprised they don’t do the same for China, causing pings to route back to Europe. Was yours a global or a local plan? However, even on CMLink, I’ve noticed that Holafly’s plans are capped and throttled much more aggressively. In Korea, I compared Holafly with Supera (both CMLink resellers) but Supera was five times faster. It was the same story in Indonesia: iRoamly was eight times faster than Holafly, despite both using CMLink. And that was right from the start, not just after reaching a daily cap. Did you have a local, regional or global plan? And what country was the ip?

Yes, but it’s capped to around 50 mbps down in perfect conditions and uses Chinese routing (china mobile) with outbreak in Singapore. Hotspot didn’t work at all for me (advertised as 500 mb a day) It uses DTAC (True), networks in Thailand are pretty solid. Personally, I don’t think it makes a lot of sense buying a Travel eSIM in Thailand since the (unlimited) local plans are pretty solid. You can buy a DTAC local tourist plan with SimOption or Airalo and it will outperform holafly on speed and latency, for a better price and includes voice.

They actually do now, kind off (check the 3th tab of the faq of a country page). But Holafly plans always have a speed so from the start, they don’t mention that. But it’s better in Europe compares to US and Asia

I tested both in Norway. Airalo was 300 mbps down, Holafly 75 mbps down. Latency was slightly better with Airalo. Holafly has a 90 GB per month (3 per day) cap, and 256 kbps after, Airalo 3 GB a day and 1 mbps after. Holafly seriously caps hotspot to just 500 mb, so you can’t really share data. If you need a lot of data, I would pick a fixed plan. Nomad and GoMoWorld performed very well and will be cheaper. Nomad has cheap European 50. GB plans for Europe.

Holafly mentions a 90 gb per month (3gb per day) fup in the faq. They also limit the speed from the start everywhere I’ve tested them (but blame the “local” partner). Also data sharing is often blocked or severely limited, so I wouldn’t use it in a router. I don’t think you should use a travel esim in a router. Not sure of your goal, but for example starlink mini would give you much better value

I test eSIMs for marketing analysis (for work). Holafly is an interesting one because the lack of transparency and huge promises they make. But they are improving, the daily limits have increased (still, it’s not really unlimited).

I've previously made my thoughts on HolaFly here pretty clear (overpriced, not very good), but for this case I think you definitely should learn a lesson in not purchasing multiple products from the same vendor without first having at least one working one.

For one it would be nice to know which phone model (the specific model number) you’re using. Holafly says it connects to all three major cellular providers in Vietnam. Earlier today/yesterday there were AWS outages that likely significantly affected most eSIM vendors, but those should be fixed now. If it sometimes connects and works, then it’s probably an issue with your phone not supporting the bands that Vietnamese carriers use, but that seems unlikely if you bought your phone in the west.

No such thing as unlimited (both mathematically and practically in this case). Holafly only gives you like 2 or 3 gigabytes per day before they throttle you to hell.

All eSIMs for China have a “VPN” included, since any eSIM you can buy is a roaming eSIM and when you roam on an eSIM you’re establishing a VPN tunnel. I don’t think Holafly is bad everywhere although it seems like their network in Asia is borderline unusable. Their advertising is just incredibly misleading too.

How much are you using your phone that it matters that much? I was recently on a 3 week long trip and had used Holafly on that trip, as well as a previous 2.5 week long trip. Both times I rarely connected to WiFi, frequently used Google maps, and never once did I experience issues.

I used it often in the past. But you get way more value buying a physical simcard at your destination. Holafly often piggybacks on cheaper networks I think because in some countries the speed isn't that wow. And for some reason often when I use a holafly sim Google Maps stops working. Then I get to a WiFi area or swap simcards and Google Maps works again.

Pick carefully. I once had a terrible experience with my e-sim during a Malaysian trip. I bought Holafly's unlimited plan, as client calls and updates are common as a freelancer. Naturally first day itself, I got an interview call and joined the Google Meet. But it stopped halfway on the lap (though the data worked on my mobile). I was so frustrated and contacted the customer care. They said this thing: unlimited plan only allow 500mb of hotspot 🥲 After this, I switched providers, and chose only those like Jetpac that offer unrestricted hotspot. So, if you're pretty serious user with laps and other devices I would suggest to check carefully at the Terms and Conditions of each provider.

Average use for me 60-120gb a month in 6 countries for a couple months each constantly throughout the year. All plans are unlimited global, monthly plans. I'm on Maya mobile atm $56 a month and works pretty well at 4gb data usage a day. Holafly I used for 2 years in past, doesn't work in some restricted areas and slow data after 90gb. Yesim is expensive but works well, but fast to throttle and random, not as reliable for the price in my testing. Fairplay mobile is expensive but works decent, had issue and esim broke after 20gb so couldn't test more . Fonus mobile worked great until I hit 40gb usage for 3 months. Now permanently banned forever. Firsty esim works great just 40gb fast data until throttle and it hits hard so I don't use it so much.

I used holafly but recently they deleted a bunch of areas they covered, used yesim global but expensive, so settled on Maya mobile I've used in 20 countries without issues. It's around 5gb a day fast then 1mbs slow, or around 150gb fast data a month.

I got banned on fonus for using 40gb a month for 2x months, never allowed to use service ever again. I use holafly 90gb every month without issues.

Maya mobile is great only $50 and if you use their discounts it's $40 for a month used 80gb a month without issues. Used holafly before shutdown, and yesim works just $76 a month.

If you’re staying in Spain for a full year, I’d skip Holafly as your main option—it’s convenient for short trips, but a local Spanish SIM/eSIM from Orange or Vodafone is usually much better for a long-term stay. You’ll generally get a Spanish number, better local pricing, and easier access to services that require a +34 number. Between Orange and Vodafone, I’d compare the coverage where you’ll actually live and whether you need a contract or prepaid plan. If your phone supports eSIM, the setup is usually straightforward: make sure it’s unlocked, choose the plan, install the eSIM QR code/app, and keep your home SIM active only if you need it for SMS. For a year, I’d personally go with a local Spanish plan rather than a travel eSIM.

Holafly isn’t a network provider anyways. They’re a virtual one. So they’re buying data from one of Barbados’ providers. Sometimes it’s gonna translate, sometimes not- you’re using the same network anyways.

My experience with Holafly has been terrible. Awful connection speed and no so good signal. It was my first time using an e-sim so I cannot compare it with other brands tho

If you're looking for an esim that has no connection ot peformance issues at all, then you'll never find one. They can all fail at any time for any reason or have variable performance. The major esims like HolaFly, Airalo, Ubigi, Saily, etc. are basically the same. The only difference is going to be pricing, upload / download limits, etc.

Download Holafly in the App Store. I don’t work for them; it’s just a service I’ve used and thought was easy enough. It’ll walk you through exactly what to do. Just make sure to take a screenshot of any instructions because I’ve found that once you close a pop-up instruction, it’s like impossible to find it again.

Get a local sim with a Scottish number in eSIM format, avoid apps like airalo, Holafly that are data only esims as they might not well suited for long term use.

Lots of time now to complain and even more time for posting here. Might be better use of your time to do your research before you get to the airport. The briefest reading of any eSIM site will inform you they will not work with locked phones though possibly missed on a tiny phone screen. Holafly has several webpages to tell you how to check if your phone is unlocked and compatible with an eSIM.

Choose a provider that offers eSIMs for Australia, such as Airalo, Holafly, Nomad, or local Australian carriers. Some eSIMs activate immediately upon installation, while others activate only when you connect to a network in Australia. Read the provider’s terms to check when activation starts.

I’m also there at New Year, it’s an amazing time to visit and you can take part in Hatsumode! However just be aware Japan really shuts down on New Years Eve and New Year’s Day, trains, museums etc and some independant shops and restaurants are just shut across the whole period. I would try and stay in one place at New Year and plan your train journeys accordingly. As for your phone I always use an eSIM (Holafly) and I’ve never had a problem :)

If you're from the US, one thing to make sure is if your phone is carrier locked or not. Unfortunately, my phone isn't paid off an AT&T won't allow you to use an E-Sim if your phone isn't paid off. It's wild I never read or heard about that until I bought an e-sim from Holafly and wasn't able to set it up. Luckily, I was able to get a refund.

For a full year you probably want a proper Spanish carrier plan tbh. Orange or Vodafone will give you a local number + data which you'll need for banks, appointments etc. Holafly is more of a tourist thing... works fine short term but gets expensive over months. If you ever need a quick data line before your main plan kicks in or for a side device, Cypher eSIM has cheap local plans you can grab without any signup hassle. But for your primary line definitely go Orange or Vodafone.

For Tanzania specifically I'd check what each provider actually means by "unlimited"... some throttle you after like 1-2GB daily which is annoying if you're uploading safari pics or whatever. I used airalo for east africa before and it was fine, not blazing fast but reliable enough. Holafly does true unlimited on paper but coverage can be spotty outside major cities. If you care about privacy at all, Cypher eSIM is worth looking at too... no account needed, pay w crypto, had decent Tanzania plans last i checked.

Yeah this works fine, I do it all the time when traveling for work. Hotspot is way better than hotel wifi security-wise so good call there. One thing tho... skip Holafly for hotspot use, they explicitly don't allow tethering on most plans. Read the fine print. Airalo works but you need an account w/ email etc. If you want something more no-fuss I've been using Cypher eSIM lately, no signup needed and they have decent SEA plans. Just make sure whatever you pick actually allows hotspot/tethering before you buy.

I would always recommend always reaching out to the customer support team in cases of issues like this Been using Holafly for years and their customer service is very responsive. They can even replace the eSIM if something goes wrong. You can contact them and complain about your experience so they can give you a voucher or a compensation

Honestly, it's pretty hit or miss, depending on the country. For Budapest, Prague, and Germany, you'll be much better off with something that runs on multiple networks. Voye Global, Airalo, and Holafly are the ones most people have consistently good experiences with in Europe. Voye Global is designed more for consistent connectivity across regions, so it can be a solid option if you want something that works smoothly across multiple countries without switching plans. Airalo is cheaper and works well if you are okay with managing your data, while Holafly is more "set it and forget it, with unlimited plans but a bit pricier. As for Roamless - it's convenient, but you are mostly paying for the convenience. If it were me, I'd go with Voye Global if you want an all-in-one solution, Airalo for budget, and Holafly for unlimited plans for my trip.

In the US you can sign up for free trials of our local carriers and get fully unlimited data. Or just buy a visible sim and activate when you get here. $25 for a month and fully unlimited. Holafly is not actually unlimited. Also they route all data through Austria so using them in North America (I used it in Mexico my last trip) is extremely slow with very high ping.

All eSIM providers do this, I use Holafly often and they limit your speed if it “looks like you will use 90gb per month” so in Europe I had to contact their support just about every day to get it unthrottled. As to how people use so much data while traveling, how do you not???? It is unsafe to use public WiFi, so your cellular connection is your only access to the internet while traveling. Plus with the phone uploading photos at night, it’s easy to use 5-10gb per day while traveling

I either buy a local eSIM (eg. I used Orange in France, Spain and Poland) or one where the operator owning the service has presence even if roaming is used (Vodafone Travel in Italy - routes through Netherlands). I only buy unlimited if the operator does not offer large enough data packages or I plan to share the connection with several other people. Some opertors do offer truly unlimited if you dig deep enough. I have tried Holafly - once on a trip to Poland to find out they routed me through Singapore ! Had to write the card off as a loss - the latency was simply unbearable. Dowloaded Orange Flex and got a local prepaid for one-third of the price of Holafly. Thankfully got a refund from Holafly. Since them, I'm wary of these virtual "travel" providers.

I felt super duped by Holafly when I tried them in Europe. Capped after a while, completely unable to do most basic stuff apart from emails. I encountered Orange Travel on my latest Paris trip. I guess I saw an ad before traveling. It felt safe that they are a big local telco (they have stores etc..). The data volumes they provide are huge (I took a 100gb offer which was plenty). As far as I could see, not capped or throttled.

The carriers for whatever reason reserve their best stuff to the local residents that live in the country Holaflys monthly global unlimited data plan is more expensive than the unlimited data plans that we get from our carriers in the United States Holaflys international unlimited data plan is 65 dollars a month plus tax on their pricing page yet American customers who get unlimited plans from Verizon T-Mobile and AT&T don’t pay that much I have zero clue how eSIM tourism providers negotiate with carriers I imagine it’s probably a huge pain in the rear to try to negotiate carriers roaming contracts with multiple providers in multiple countries

If you're looking for alternatives, I might recommend Airhub eSIM for your India trip. I’ve had a smooth experience with them. I recently bought their India's eSIM - 20 Gb data and calls plan for 30 days and had a really good experience. According to me, Airhub is much better value compared to Holafly - price wise.

We recently purchased it for our travels in Morocco and Portugal. The e-sim worked fine in Morocco. We were there for 3 days. Now we're in Portugal and it stopped working! We contacted holafly -- customer service has been atrocious. They finally said something about how there are too many people using data so they had to stop providing service until tomorrow! We said -- well, this isn't really an unlimited plan then. This went on for a while. We are now paying $12/day to get data using our cell phone provider. Once we're back we will dispute the charge with holafly to see if we can get our money back.

If you want something simple that works across all three (Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania), you can look at regional eSIMs that cover the Balkans. Holafly or Airalo both have Balkan-region plans, so you don’t have to swap SIMs as you cross borders. If you’ll be in Albania the longest, Vodafone Albania’s tourist plan is solid and it usually includes roaming in nearby Balkan countries. Telekom Montenegro also sells an eSIM online that includes roaming, but there’s usually a data cap, so it depends how much you use. If your trip is only 10 days and you mostly need maps / WhatsApp / light browsing, the regional eSIM is probably the easiest and least hassle. If you’ll be streaming or tethering a lot, then getting a local SIM in the first country you land in and using its roaming might give you better speeds.

If you only need data and want something simple, Airalo works well in Switzerland. Activation takes a few minutes and coverage is strong in the cities and on trains. This lines up with my experience. Holafly usually connects faster and stays consistent in most cities. RedteaGO works but I had random slow patches too, especially in older parts of Rome. In albania currently and had originally used holafly unlimited which has been great for just my phone but ive been hotspotting alot and holafly just straight up stopped working for only the hotspot. Data still works on my phone. I ended up getting a saily one as well that i switch to when hotspotting

There are a bunch of mixed reviews. I’ve tried airalo and holafly in other countries, but it was a headache having to deal with support when my data ran out super fast. For china, I switched to gigsky instead and they were solid in every way: setup, speed and coverage (even in more remote spots). I used expressvpn too for full access. You can test it out for free before buying anything btw.

Last I bought a holafly eSIM it didn’t even work in Hong Kong, but the rest of Asia it worked fine.

Your right, it’s isn’t Holafly doing the throttling, but I’ve made 3 attempts at asking how much high speed data I have left only to given the run around because they want to keep up with the lie they’ve perpetuated?? Hahah no. But I have screenshots of the agent telling me exactly how much data I have available and how much of that data I used

I used Holafly in Rome. It worked for what I needed it for. ie. having internet to search for stuff, map use, messaging and whatnot. But it is not unlimited. You might pay for unlimited but the operator (vodafone or tim or whatever it connects to) usually has some fair use policy so after a certain amount of data you will get throttled either by speed or daily usage caps. So if you plan on streaming large amounts of data or something it might not work they way you expect it. Otherwise it was simple and hassle free for me.

Yeah I don't think it is Holafly that does the throttling but some of the networks they use. Still there needs to be transparency where you do or don't get unlimited data.

Also from Austria... been to Italy twice and Greece once and used Holafly with no problems all three times.

Coverage and speed will depend on the local operator network. And in most cases, Ohayu eSIM, Airalo, Holafly, and other providers will connect you to the same networks (NTT Docomo Japan or SoftBank Japan). So my advice would be to check the prices and choose what fits you best. But the point is will you really consume that much data if used wisely? I used esim only when outdoors and strictly kept it for attending important calls via whatsapp or zoom and informed my callers before hand they are not allowed to video call during my trip unless i say so when connected to wifi. Kept photo and video uploading all for wifi and ended up consuming only 1.2gb data on my 12 day trip which included excessive audio calling more than 3 hours per day combined and checking emails with auto attachments downloading disabled. So in broader aspect using anything wisely can save hell lots and for some people HOLAFLY esim is the only option that gives unlimited data in extremely high price.

I am not sure why you would want 30GB or 100GB unless you plan to work outside and plan to attend a lot of video calls or meetings. There are numerous esim providers where you can get a specific amount of data based on your requirement which I guess might be cheaper. If you want both flexibility for number of days and data pack size, unoroam is a good option (also ends up being cheapest). But if you want fixed data or fixed days there are other options like Airalo, Holafly etc.

I am experiencing the same issues with Holafly. It’s been over 20 business days now waiting for a refund and they have given me a partial refund today: their customer service is the worst and their practices are unethical.

Airalo and Holafly will work for you. The only place I had trouble was Bolivia with eSIMs.

I'm always looking for better options than the big, well know eSIM providers as I travel a lot. The big ones out there like Airalo, Holafly and Ubigi are decent but the problem I've had is reliability and when they go down the support is very slow to act but has always refunded me. I like to check eSIMdb then I'll often buy a local physical sim to save money and get the absolute best service and reliability.

For Greece, you've got a few solid eSIM options depending on how long you're staying: Orange Holiday Europe could work well if you're staying longer-term - they offer pretty generous data allowances and good coverage throughout Greece. Airalo is probably the most popular - they have Greece-specific plans and broader Europe plans if you're planning to travel around. Pretty reliable and easy to set up through their app. Holafly is another good one that actually offers unlimited data plans for Greece, which sounds perfect for what you need. They tend to be a bit pricier but the unlimited aspect is nice. One heads up though - true "unlimited" calling/texting can be tricky with eSIMs. Many of the plans have generous but capped minutes, or unlimited data but limited voice. You might want to supplement with WhatsApp/Telegram for most of your communication since you'll have the data. If you're moving there get a local physical sim card, they're always a better price with more data before unlimited data gets throttled. If you don't have an eSIM tray just convert to eSIM from physical.

Agoda and Klook sometimes have better deals than Airalo, Holafly or the other big eSIM providers. You can also use eSIMdb to find good deals based on country or region. Sometimes eSIMdb will have coupons for Airalo also.

Even if you pick up a Turkish SIM card from one of the three networks that exist there, you still wouldn't get unlimited data. It's apparently not a thing in Turkey. There are a few esim providers that claim to have unlimited data in Turkey (like Holafly), but they have "fair usage limits" and probably won't allow tethering. Most places aren't as good as the UK when it comes to unlimited data.

I fixed it with the help of the Ai helper from Holafly, had to reset my phone’s network settings and to change my APN to “internet”

Well I did leave it on automatic, as for the esim itself, in the holafly app it says that its for Canada so yeah, I’ll try rebooting then if it does nothing go to their customer support. Thanks!

I did Orange while I traveled to the UK and the EU for a couple weeks. They had a great promo of $45 for 100GB Data and Voice. Solid reliable network throughout my trip. Other eSIMs like Airalo would’ve been over $100 for just the data alone. Holafly would’ve been $50 for unlimited but their “unlimited” gets throttled pretty fast supposedly. If I had opted for Verizon TravelPass, it would’ve costed me $130. Albeit that option would’ve been the least headache.

There are two types of players in market - burner esim: need to buy a new esim every time you travel and uninstall it once the trip ends or the esim expires on its own! (airalo, holalfy etc) - reusable esim OR one esim: keep topping up same esim with different countries. No need to reinstall an esim again, ever! (Jetpac, saily, roamless etc)

The issue is probably not the limit on unlimited esim but the limit on hotspot data. I think holafly limits it to 500 mb. Most unlimited have some sort of Fair Usage Policy to prevent them from data abuse. I use Jetpac esim who also has an unlimited pack for Europe. Their daily limit is 3gb, unlike holafly who never declares the limit. And you can also use hotspot till you use up 3gb

Unlimited is a marketing stunt! They hide fair usage policy in tech specs! Not recommended! I recommend you check out the a listers - Airalo, Jetpack global, Nomad etc for Europe plans

Just got back from Liverpool,used RedteaGO’s unlimited data plan for $0.7/day and had zero issues. Fast and stable even during busy times. Much better than my past experience with Holafly. Great value if you want reliable data for the whole trip!

Loads of esims are mostly the same in terms of reliability. So take your pick, biggest is probably airalo or Holafly (but their unlimited plans don't get much love, and get easily throttled at unreliable times). You can also go to a Mobimatter or Maya and get really large data packs for relatively low cost compared to bigger name brand esims.

Check esimdb for Canada order by "Largest GB". Also check holafly, they sell unlimited, I haven't tracked the small print to see if they throttle or not at some point. I'm from Canada and networks here are an oligopoly, so lower competition than one could find elsewhere. We have post-paid, no contract, unlimited plans but they throttle speed at 512Kbps after a certain amount of GB. Hopefully someone has a suggestion that is truly unlimited for you.

That I get but Airalo lets you install a eSIM and activate when you arrive. Holafly website says you can do the same but in reality it tries to activate at install… so I had to waste time chatting with them to find out even though it said it was activated it really wasn’t until I turn on Roaming. I just find the setup process much more convoluted and complicated than it needs to be. It’s as if they want you to chat with their support rather than making it dead simple.

I’ve only used [Cosmofon](https://cosmofon.ai/en/home) and [holafly](https://esim.holafly.com) I’ve found that it depends on where you go, for example holafly can be cheaper in some European countries but Cosmofon is much better in America, specially Mexico and it is much more intuitive.

iMessage should work perfectly with your Holafly eSIM while you’re in London. all you have to do is make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi or using that unlimited data. plus, iMessage uses data instead of traditional SMS, so you won’t get hit with extra charges either.

Hi, There are separate data roaming settings for each SIM. You'll be turning data roaming off for your usual SIM, and on for Holafly. Data roaming needs to be switched on for the majority of travel eSIMs because almost all attach to the networks via roaming agreements. Only rarely are other (non roaming) agreements in place eg. those which operate as a virtual network rather than roaming, in the same way that supermarket-branded virtual network SIMs attach to an actual mobile network.

Hi, The majority of travel eSIMs are data only. To be honest, it's unlikely that you'd want one which supported telephone calls and SMS because it would cost your friends a lot of money to call/SMS a Japanese phone number. Using a data-only travel eSIM, you can continue to send 'texts' via Internet-based applications such as Apple iMessage, FB Messenger and WhatsApp but cannot send traditional SMS. Similarly, you can make Internet-based 'calls' using Apple FaceTime, WhatsApp or other apps, but cannot make standard phone calls. With all travel eSIMs, it's usual to buy and download the SIM in advance. Just leave the SIM switched off in your phone settings. Once you land in Japan, you turn the SIM on. If you want to avoid T mobile roaming fees, you may want to switch your normal SIM off before you land in Japan. I don't know what's included or not included in your plan, but roaming fees can be triggered by using data, sending SMS, receiving phone calls or making phone calls using your T mobile SIM while abroad. Trip.com sells eSIM at near zero profit or even as a loss leader. Once you've created a Trip.com account you become a potential customer for flights and hotels and that's where they make their money. Airalo or Holafly can't do that because their business model *is* eSIMs so they need to make profits on that. Trip.com Group is also a Chinese company making billions of revenue while a company like Airalo makes a couple hundred millions. So Trip com can operate on a much bigger scale and probably has better carrier relationships. That being said, I've used both Airalo and Trip.com eSIMs in the past, both single countries and "Asia" data plans when I was going to more than one country and I haven't had issues with any of them. I now usually go with Trip.com because it's so much cheaper and so far I've never had any issues.

In a country where it's easy to just grab a data sim at the airport from a trusted provider, I do that. I would assume that's the case around Europe, but have only done that in Finland and Portugal. In Mexico last year, I used Holafly for the first time and it was seamless. Set it up in advance, it worked once there and I was able to use my phone to transfer money on a catamaran between Cancun and Isla Mujeres. It'll be what I use next time I need an e-sim. Easy setup, seamless service. Prior to that, I'd tried Airalo in Antigua. On the same iPhone as Mexico, the setup was a more clunky and the service ultimately didn't work at all.

Just used it for 8 days in France. I did the unlimited data option, and it was really valuable as far as being able to use maps for train schedules, directions, etc. It was also great to still be able to keep in touch with family at home in the US via WhatsApp and messenger. And not once did I miss not being able to text or receive phone calls (it was a nice break haha). Connection was reliable and quick. We had no issues honestly, and I’ll definitely use it again next year when we do Scotland and Ireland.

I just used Holafly for 6 weeks in Denmark and shortly before that, a few weeks in South Korea. It worked great each time, no complaints. It is always my to go e-sim when traveling abroad.

Our accomodation for all 3 islands have been near the port and the data is absolutely fine near there, but some of the places we went to with ATVs I had no service, so if you do decide to go with Holafly you can always download the maps before you go anywhere.

I’m at the end of my 2 month trip in Europe, I’ve been to England, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Croatia, Italy and I’m now in Greece. I had an issue when I first got to England where it didn’t work at all and they were very quick to send me a new one which was good. The only issues I’ve had with it is it’s very hit and miss in the Greek islands. I’m from Australia & my partner has just been using data roaming & he’s been able to get data in places where my Holafly couldn’t. Specifically in Milos, Paros & Naxos. It was pretty expensive too.

i had lot's of issues with them when in Marroco last winter. I paid for 1 week, they had networkproblems and could not use it the first 2 days, no money back, but 2 days extra after, but then i already left marocco. Never had an issue with throttling and would use large amount of data in most countries where hotel WiFi was too slow. Never had an issue with service. I will say that since you’re connecting to Taiwan you’ll have some websites blocked (at least in the past) unless you have a VPN.

I have the unlimited world monthly plan. It works great. I've used it in 10 countries so far. Typically no issues at all. Some countries seem to be more reliable than other in regards to short outages. The biggest benefit is not having to juggle plans and worry about timing multiple plans. There is no way I'd go back to getting a different sim set up for every location.

I used it a couple of years back across Taipei, KL and Bangkok. Mostly good and stable. There were a couple of weird parts in Hong Kong where, before I was able to connect, I needed to upload my passport. The app didn’t ask this beforehand, so I had to do it on the fly using airport wifi which was not great. In Taipei, it cut out for a day or two for some reason, and I had to go back to my hotel to use the wifi to get support through the app. It happened again in KL and I again needed to go back to my hotel to get support on the app. Outside of that, it’s decent for what it is.

Holafly customers did not experience these outages, despite providers being “all pretty good”. The “unlimited” data usage is where the cost differential lies. Notwithstanding your reasonable concerns about transparency, 10Gb of fair-use per day is a large amount of data, compared to other popular plans, even for heavy users. In any case, if the OP has endured this thread, it’s 10Gb/day of high-speed data, for which you can specify exactly the number of days you require, at a slight price premium for convenience, and it works well.

Checked directly with Holafly … their stated fair use policy in EU is full-speed up to 10Gb, not 1Gb.

Found Holafly unlimited plans to be very solid in Italy, Portugal, Germany. Son used it in Spain and found it good. Good connection speeds. Not the cheapest option.

It depends on how much data you’re gonna need though? I used Holafly on my two week trip to Europe this month and wasn’t really happy with it. I had a back up eSim from Mobimatter (Sparks) and it worked way better. Holafly was throttling my data.. I could tell. I compared them both. I used it in Austria, Greece, Hungary and Poland. I haven’t used Airalo in a while, hopefully they don’t throttle if you go with them. Best of luck.

The prices and reviews are the only difference.. I’ve used all types of eSims and they’re all pretty much the same. When I visit Europe I mostly use Bouygues and Orange eSims. They’ve done the job. Not necessarily true, I’ve had good experiences with Holafly. I’ve used way more than 1gb per day on a few of my trips. I’ll get back to the hotel and stream stuff for hours, I never had issues. Haven't used Ubigi so I'm unable to say. I used Holafly in China. Tried the 3 days version and then I opted for the unlimited monthly for $60 for \~ 3 months. Coverage was 5G in most places (Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu) & unlimited hotspot. I also travel through Korea & Japan and didn't have issues since Holafly automagically connected. Lastly I bought coverage for my kid too but he forgot to stop the renewal; i got on Holafly chat & they took care of it right away on the same day after reviewing.

**Just pick one.** Airalo, Saily, Ubigi, Holafly, whatever. It doesn't matter. They're the *same thing*. People seem to think these apps are mobile providers in their own right. *They're not*, they're **resellers**. So whichever you pick, the actual network you're going to connect to and the actual coverage you get is going to be the same. Their prices and plans may differ *a little*, but not enough to spend time researching every single one and being "completely lost" afterwards. If what you care about is staying connected, then it does NOT matter which *global* app you choose to buy your eSIM from. It's like asking whether you should buy your new PS5 from eBay or Amazon. It doesn't matter. Because it's the same product.

If you already use REVOLUT use there eSIM, I had absolutely zero problem (50gb for 2 weeks was a bit too much for my usage). My brother used HOLAFLY without any problems.

For large plan / big data in Indonesia it’s cheaper to buy local eSIM. Roaming travel eSIM is cheap for less than 10GB plan. And I think most unlimited always have FUP so it’s not pure “no limit.” Holafly and Saily has limit 5GB per day for their unlimited plan. Whereas Telkomsel (local eSIM) can have 83GB, 150GB, and 200GB. You can do tethering. 200GB / 30 days = 6.7 GB per day (more than Saily and Holafly)

I wanted to add my 2 cents here for anyone who stumbles across it. Mostly so I know I have vented my frustrations with them as well. I hope they read this because they would not tell me where I could send the transcript of the customer service so they can give their heads a shake. They say that the chats are monitored for this kind of thing. OVERALL the product worked really well when I needed it if you meet the requirements. Getting it set up is supposed to be very simple, but really it's the customer service that ruins the entire thing. Long story short: * I needed 2 esims. 1 for me (Samsung S20), and 1 for an iPhone 15. I follow the quiz to see if the S20 is eligible. It passes all qualifiers. * Turns out S20 is not compatible for whatever reason, but it took an hour of talking to MULTIPLE chatbot AI robots who all sincerely assure you they are human to figure this out. Then pass you from AI to AI as if it is a new person who is somehow more of an expert. * At one point after assuring me it was human, it started speaking Spanish out of the blue. * Even though my issue was all part of the same chat, they give you the same "solutions" that you have very clearly determined do not work moments before. * I was literally saying things like "Is this a joke?" and "Answer my question" because they were constantly evasive. * Once I determined my s20 will not work, I asked which s20s WILL because I met all the requirements they asked. They said "some work and some don't" which is a frustrating response after the amount of time I spent with them. No help given. Another small issue was because I bought 2 and refunded 1, they didn't tell me which esim was getting refunded so we also spent way too long not able to use the iPhone until we installed the other one. Something the AI did not think of, but I finally realized after a while. Everything worked well almost immediately once I solved all of these issues FOR Holafly. The refund was given promptly too. It's like a company with 2 different heads. So obviously my issue is a little niche but ALL of this could be resolved if they gave you a phone number to call an actual human being after say 3 attempts of not getting the problem solved. It was extremely frustrating and infuriating to deal with as the first part of my trip.

I used it for about 5 months while doing a European road trip while recording content for social media. This is standard for UK. Mobile service there can be very bad, even (especially) in central London. Don't see it necessarily as a reflection on Holafly, rather how badly the UK is served, because people keep objecting to new phone masts. Interestingly, when I was in UK, the best mobile phone reception was in the London Underground, where many routes now have transmitters in the tunnels.

Do you travel every month? Or every other month? And how much data do you consume usually? I’d wager it’s less than you think. ALL unlimited data eSIMs are cripple by fair usage clauses so simply ask AI to compare them both by their FUC’s or FUP’s. Personally, unless you are using 30+ GB on international data every month, both are poor value over a year.

Take an EU region plan, but make sure it has UK in it (not all do) If you're price sensitive go with Pelesim or Sparks (also good connection to be honest) If you like premium (not sure what it means in this space) go with HolaFly or Saily. Personally I had a lot of issues with Airalo in the past.

Being ang Airhub user since last 3 years, I am frequent.international users... I have used airalo, holafly and Saily and trust they all are very costly and very limited plans. One of my friend recommended me to try Airhub as they must affordable data plans and voice plans for international travel. I tried Airhub on my friend recommendation as he is frequent traveler also. Trust me it becomes money saving for me and there is voice plan available. When ever I viist dubai for few hours and back same days I used Airhub 3usd/ day /gb plan while I have paid 20usd for Saily, Airalo and Holafly. For the same plan earlier. It can be challenging for anyone to install esim at first and that's case for all esim provider. In last 3 years I have got all my support related issues resolved 99.9% of the time by Airhub. I also have recommended this esim to some of my business colleges and they all are using the Airhub esim. When initially they so many negative reviews about Airhub on reddit, I do want to name but I know all the competitors of Airhub bht yes most of the reviews about Airhub us fake on Reddit planned by their competitors whi are not able to match their price and variety and multiple options avat for travellers.

I am currently using holafly esim with the unlimited limit. People say it throttles but currently it's been great so far without throttling. I am using it in guangzhou and I can get through the fire wall to watch youtube very easily. It's been good for me but cannot say for others although it was quite expensive.

Install it at home on wifi but don't turn the line on - the QR download and the activation are two seperate things, and pretty much every provider starts your days when the eSIM first connects to a Japanese network, not when you install it. So download it now, leave the line toggled off, then flip it on after you land at Haneda and it'll pick up docomo or softbank in a minute or two. Re: Holafly, the unlimited thing is real but it's soft capped, mine got noticeably slower after a few gb a day and that was fine for maps and scrolling but don't expect to tether a laptop off it. Ubigi and Airalo are cheaper if you'd rather just buy 10-20gb, and honestly for maps + google + tiktok you'll use way less than you think since wifi is everywhere. One thing to check before you leave: keep your tmobile line active for iMessage/calls but turn its data roaming OFF, otherwise your phone will happily use it and you'll get a bill.

Absolutely avoid. Don't care about the terms but these guys run contracts that reduce service below anything vaguely reasonable. It's not slow, it just doesn't work at all and WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED. That could be fine in major cities but if you're travelling regionally it's a huge fuck around. Their tech support is also run by multiple chat bots running circular loops to avoid refunds. I feel like it's a pipe dream that would be great in theory but just doesn't pan out with whatever service contracts they run. The initial payment and activation is flawless, for example. What I like about Holafly and so far I think nobody has touched upon: It is the only travel eSIM provider that let‘s you specific an exact number of day depending on your travel time. All the other ones have specific sets (3, 5, 10, 30 days etc.) but for Holafly you can customize to whatever time period you want (I took the Asia pass for multiple countries and 65 days for example for my latest travels)…

Most esims let you add the profile whenever, it only starts counting days once you connect to a local network in Japan I skipped Holafly for my trip last fall, ended up using Cypher eSIM cause i didn't want to make an account or hand over my email for something i'm using for 2 weeks. Worked fine in Tokyo and even out in Hakone. Maps, tiktok, all good. For Japan specifically coverage is solid on most providers so don't overthink it too much

I tested Holafly and Nomad esim unlimited, but after 2gb the sim is unusable. Garbage. Holafly refunded the price of esim but Nomad has a no refund policy. I ended up buying 20gb of roaming data for my own number and it was the best option, and the cheapest. Nomad is a big no no.

July 5-13th Japan trip covering Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. No issues with Ubigi - got their 15-day unlo data esim. Love it! My friends got Holafly and they got couple of issues with their data.

I had a similar experience in Flores, Indonesia. Saily stopped working and would no longer connect. After 3 days of troubleshooting, I asked for a refund. First they offered credits, after i pushed back they gave me cash refund for unused time. Connection issues prior to this were not an issue and i found the app interface very user friendly, compared to Holafly which i now use.

They have no back bone to support you.

I've found that Airalo does not work reliably in my experience. And if you're encounter a problem Airalo does not help you. Their support chatbot is there to turn you away. i have contacted the Holafly esim's customer support they told me that it is still restricted by the local network, do you know any well documented experience that a certain brand of esim will work?

I wouldn’t recommend Holafly to anyone … having been scammed by this company. Their service is patchy, pathetic and overpriced. Their customer service is a bunch of scammers.

You could get the holafly or something like that cause it seems you'd need to bounce around. Data only though.

Wish I had seen this thread before paying $200 for two months of “unlimited data”. I’m on day 5 in Guatemala and no signal. Tried rebooting phone, airplane mode, updating my iOS. This is so disappointing and should be illegal.

Honestly the big names (Airalo, Holafly, Saily) are where most people start, but they've gotten pricey — Holafly's "unlimited" plans especially, and Airalo/Saily add up per GB on a longer trip. The one I keep coming back to is [journeyesims.com](http://journeyesims.com) — same coverage as the big names (200+ countries) but the plans come out cheaper for the same data. Setup's just as easy: pick a plan, tap activate, online when you land, and you keep your normal number. My advice regardless of what you pick: price-check 2-3 providers for your exact destination before buying. The spread between them is way bigger than people expect.

I use Airhub and Nomad. Always turned out to be cheaper than airalo, holafly, saily, etc. Tested in: Egypt, Turkey, Vietnam.

I purchased 2, 72 days of unlimited data for travelling in Spain and france. 5 days into trip and both esims stopped working. It took over 4 months and help from paypal(I paid using PP) to get my money back. Horrible company DO NOT USE.

DO NOT USE HOLAFLY . I recently bought 2 esims for unlimited data for 49 days . After 5 days, both esims stopped working. I was in spain . No data, no calls, nothing. That was approximately 70+ days ago. Im still waiting for my refund (which i have been told I can have). But everytime i send an email. The reply is " someone from the refunds department will be on touch shortly" but they never do. STAY AWAY FROM HOLAFLY ,SAVE DISSAPOINTMENT .

I contacted Holafly and after several attempts they finally gave up to fix it and refunded my money. I had to switch to e-sims from trip.com. They were cheaper anyways

Yeah. I used to love Holafly, but recently, every time I've used it it was worse than the last. And then the customer service gets worse and worse. It's as if they've gotten too big too fast. I needed it for a laptop in the U.S. I'm American. My IP was in Italy. So my Netflix, YouTube, etc. didn't work. Their response: "We don't support that. You can surf the net and read email? Good. That's what you paid for." Then I went to Vietnam and used it in my Netgear Nighthawk. Halfway through my week long trip, it stopped working. The screen said I was connected to "Holafly 4G", but there was no Internet access. Support said, "We don't support hotspots". I informed them that I've used it with Holafly in the past and it worked in the first few days of my trip and the support person said, "Well, guess you were lucky." That pretty much put the nail in the Holafly coffin for me. I'm trying Airalo next.

I got Holafly and had issues with my speed and my gf had aíralo and her speed was fast.

I bought unlimited plan for South Korea, China, Indonesia Singapore and Malaysia. All worked except when I was Kuching Sarawak. Got on to support. After several attempts at changing settings etc etc finally they gave me a new eSIM. Now working well. You may have to be patient with support. It worked out well for me eventually.

Hi everyone! I will be in Europe for a little over a month in the following countries: Switzerland, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Belgium, The Netherlands, and Denmark I anticipate my main source of data usage to be GPS/Maps. I will be driving for the entirety of my time there - looking like around 150 hours of driving. I am not sure if my rental car will have a GPS in it or not, but don't want to count on it. After lots of reading, it seems like Holafly is a no-go despite its popularity (I've read that they continue to charge after the fact, are difficult with refunds, etc.). Airalo and Nomad seem to have decent reviews. Ideally, I'd like to find one eSIM that covers at least MOST of these countries instead of hopping to multiple ones depending on the country (I understand Switzerland is usually excluded from Europe-encompassing eSIM plans) Does anyone have experience using any of the ones I mentioned, or have strong opinions about others?

Just ended 15 day purchase. Any further billing and my credit card company will claw back

Voye is 1/3 the price of holafly, ubigi and all the other ‘influencer’ touted esims that are overpriced

Yeah I’m using Holafly right now in Europe (France, Spain, Italy, greece) and it has been fine. Speeds are definitely slow but not unusable you just need to be a bit patient. Very usable for calls and texting anywhere.
